You are Glitch-Free

Do you have one of those computers that occasionally quit working? Maybe the screen freezes, you lose data, or the hard drive crashes. “Must be a glitch,” we’re often told by repair geeks.

Glitches happen so frequently with computers, users expect them. The wise prepare for the next crash by backing up data and duplicating content on extra storage drives.

There is one place you should not expect to find glitches, though, and that is in the real you!

God created you glitch-free! As the divine image and likeness you are not prone to error.

From a material point of view, this truth appears impossible. Humans commit errors all day long, one might note.

But from a spiritual point of view, it is the reality.

As a beginning artist may draw an imperfect circle, the lopsided sphere on the paper does not alter the perfect circle that exists in the Mind of God. The idea of a circle is always perfect. As the artist learns the idea better, he is able to draw a better circle.

The same rule applies to demonstrating our spiritual perfection.

Each of us has a perfect individuality in the Mind of God. The more we hold to the right idea of our identity and understand it, the closer we approximate it in experience.

To get there though, we must hold to the right idea.

And the right idea is glitch-free!

As a spiritual being, there are no glitches in your make-up. You are not capable of error. You are not liable to falling apart. You are not weak or susceptible to lack or loss. You are a whole, complete, rounded out, competent, intelligent expression of perfection.

There is no better time to see you that way than now!

“…you are to be perfect, even as your Father in heaven is perfect” Jesus Christ, Matthew 5:48, NLT.

  1. Yes, no one has the right or the knowledge to judge me as imperfect, upright and pure. That’s a fact.

  2. This is great! wish I’d read it before I listened to your webinar last night. Then I would have held in thought a glitch-free me and my computer. Just the same, hearing your lecture and seeing you speak it was nearly as good as being there.
Love the thought that drawing a lop-sided sphere doesn’t change the perfect sphere that’s in the Mind that is God.
And just as this week’s Lesson Sermon on Mortals and Immortals points out, we have to turn to the perfect model of Life, Truth Love, etc. , to bring about healing.
Hymn 171 puts it nicely; “When we turn from earth to Spirit, and from self have won release, then we see the risen Saviour: then we know his promised peace.”
Thanks, Evan for these daily tips.

  3. “On earth the broken arcs, in heaven, a perfect round.”

Not sure who said this, but this quote relates to your article today.

I love that rainbows are not arcs but perfect rounds, when viewed from the
a vantage point to see their totality, (as your clouds, sun, and rainbow photo illustrate). And I love learning to accept the perfection of my being as God’s expression and likeness, even though from the viewpoint of the human sense of things I feel far from perfect! But the fact of who I am remains, and can be discovered and demonstrated through the teachings of Christian Science. Truth is here, and is being revealed to mankind. How GREAT is this!!

Thanks for doing your loving part in this revealing, Evan!

  4. Thank you. Evan, for this important reminder. I, too, especially appreciate the example of the beginning artist drawing a circle. It gives me hope!
To SpiritView-Fan, the beautiful quote you gave is from the poem “Abt Vogler,” by Robert Browning. It is too long to copy here, but is well worth reading, especially in light of this blog subject. It’s a beautiful and powerful poem, one of whose themes is perfection. Enjoy!

  5. This definitely has to be a proactive thing for me. To start the day with reminders of what I really am, so the reality of that is always at least on a slow boil on a back burner. Can’t wait for something to go wrong then assert you’re glitch free. I mean you could, and you often have to, but easier it seems to try and not let the glitch horse out of the glitch barn in the first place.

    1. It’s a spiritual maturity that enables one to be calm, retain peace of mind, and come up with good answers in the face of pressure or angst. It’s an all around stable and secure attitude and presence without “rough edges,” such as impatience or short temper.
