God can

The list of “I can’t do this” in the minds of many people, often grows long.

“I can’t keep up with work.  I can’t get along with my spouse.  I can’t find the answer I need.  I can’t find peace of mind…” And the list of what one believes they cannot do continues to grow unless checked.

If you ever tempted to think “I can’t,” you can free yourself from any feeling of helplessness by remembering the infallible truth of, “God can.”

What you cannot do humanly, God can do spiritually.

The intelligent Mind of God is present to give you the understanding and insight you need to master your work.  With God’s help, you can get the work done.

The intelligent Love of God is present to discern what kind of reformed attitude will contribute to happier relationships with others.  Is it forgiveness, open-mindedness, more care, tenderness, kindness that is needed?  God supplies it without limit, and you can express it without limit.  What the human mind’s limited concept of love fails to do the divine Mind’s understanding of infinite Love can do.

There are no limits on what God can do.  Let God do the doing.

Be quick to replace any suggestion of “I can’t,” with “God can!”  The outcome is much better.

  1. When a was a little girl I was apt to keep saying “I can’t” when asked to do something.
My Mother, who was not at all religious, always came back with the words.
“there is no such word as ‘can’t.” I am not sure whether that improved my
outlook or not at the time, but I have always remembered that, and particularly
after becoming a student of C.S. light began to dawn.

Evan’s spiritual remedy for “I can’t but God can”, is such a revelation, and takes off all the false
pressures on us to labour at trying to do things by human will.
“With God all things are possible” is a good thing to keep in thought
when we are challenged with a task that seems daunting.

I have found this invaluable in my life as a musician – “things impossible”
I dared in performing music that seemed impossible at first glance, and by trusting that
I COULD achieve what seemed impossible, gradually unfolded
for me, and I always found the ability I needed when I stuck with this attitude as I practiced
what I had learned of the science of music, because I loved music, and wanted
to be able to express it faithfully and with my best ability, so that I could
share it with others and bring out the message of the music.

The same goes for the Science of Christ – if we love it, we can follow the laws
that Christ teaches us,, knowing that God has included in us all that we need in
order to practice and demonstrate the healing power of Christian Science. Love is
the liberator – love for God and man.. I think there is a hymn which says “Things
    deemed impossible I dare”.

    1. Wonderful !! Thank you so much Evan..
And thank you Maggie for reminding me of Hymn number 190 ! God’s will IS done.

“My God, my Father, make me strong,
When tasks of life seem hard and long,
To greet them with this triumph song,
      Thy will be done.

      With confident and humble mind,
My joy in service I would find,
My prayer through every task assigned,
      Thy will be done.

      Things deemed impossible I dare,
Thine is the call and Thine the care,
      Thy wisdom shall the way prepare;
      Thy will be done.

Heaven’s music chimes the glad days in,
Hope soars beyond death, pain and sin,
      Faith sings in triumph, Love doth win;
      Thy will is done.”

      1. This beautiful hymn is so refreshing and the spiritual concept so
needed with the challenges of the world today. Thank you,
dear Martine (and dear Evan, for the original prompt to all of these
loving remarks). It all negates the negative and how lovely if everyone
felt and lived this way, with God’s will being done. I love the mention
of “Heaven’s music chimes the glad days in”. Isn’t it like the gentle
wind whispering through wind chimes and touching our heart with
a presence unseen, but yet, so divinely felt.

    2. Hi dear Maggie, do you play an Instrument or are you a singer? MBE says in SH that music is divine.♡

      1. If you tune into this one again, dear Uta, I am a pianist – that was my first study at the Royal Academy of Music in London , and my second was singing. I spent a number of years
playing recitals and accompanying a large chorus, where I participated in some of the concerts,as either a soloist in a concerto and in things like The Rio Grande by Constant Lambert. etc. Then I turned also to singing, and
sang as a soprano soloist in some choral works, and in a professional early music small ensemble etc. I also formed my own ladies Choir, and called it “Sing for Joy”, and stood in as conductor for rehearsals sometimes in the big choir/.
Also taught singing and piano. etc. etc. ..Music is
wonderful, and it has the ability to unite all people in
all parts of the world to love one another as they love their
        common love of music.

Thank you for asking, dear Uta. I ove all your input to SV.
I know you love music, so I am happy to tell you what I have done, and wil still do
when I am able – music has always been the main things in
my life, before I came into C.S. and it always comforted me
        and uplifted me when needed.

    1. Happy that I slowed my day down to read this first thing! Such a wonderful way to enter an infinite day if blessings to give and to receive!

      Thank you ,Evan!

  2. I love this Evan, thank you , and my teacher always says, The Bible and Science and Health are “you can “ books!!

  3. Yes. God is the Great I AM, not ‘I am not.’ No haven’t, but always has, no can’t, but always can, no, won’t, but God’s will is DONE!, No negative existent — except to negate the negative.
I AM ALL is the law of God, as Mary Baker Eddy wrote. It is the law of healing,
    The work is already done!

  4. Beautiful, beautiful subject today…thank you Evan.
Thank you also for the hymn Martine and Maggie… my Mother always said ‘can’t means won’t!’
Every day is Gods Day…Gods will ..Gods perfection and Gods guidance.
Happy ‘ God doing permanent Good ‘ day everyone❣️

  5. my mother wasn’t a C S….but she often said ‘Raise above it..” There wasn’t alot of explaining.
That has made the Spirituality of Thought with Science and Health.. have more freedom to let go of false claims, realigning, and experiencing proof of Gods Equation nd with Christ we stand on this foundation, really it is the best weather and news report beginning each day Anew
I’m so grateful Gods holding our hands as a matter of course, guiding, sending whispering angels.
and SpiritView’s Good Morning views and inspiration…..always filled with Joy to find today.

  6. What a plethora of Hope and Love shared here this morning! So much inspiration
of things so sweetly being shared from God!! Our hearts here are overflowing with
the spiritual gratitude of Love’s dear presence!!! What a joy to share the Truth of
Love. It brings such endless promise that God’s Goodness is without limit and
eternal in nature and the warmth and comfort, gentleness, tenderness felt with this
    divine connection to God’s power is such a wonderful blessing… . . . non-ending . . .
LOVE IT!!! and Everyone here! Thank you all for such unlimited inspiration! Truth is
so powerful, but yet compassionate and sweet.

  7. I heard in class something like: “I can is the son of I AM.”

Sometimes I catch myself saying, “I don’t know what to do.” But after a few of those I ensure to follow it up with, “God knows what to do. Mind knows what to do.”

Thanks for this topic – good reminder. Appreciate everyone’s input, too.

  8. Happy that I slowed my day down to read this first thing! Such a wonderful way to enter an infinite day of blessings to give and to receive!

  9. O yess, wonderful, let God do the doing. With pleasure I will and also will express God’s limitless doing! Thank you very very much, dear Evan for this freeing SpiritView! Will study it more this evening!♡

All SpiritView Friends, thanks a lot, but I havn’t yet read all your inspiring comments, however am looking very much forward to do so!♡

    1. After meanwhile I read this SpiritView several times, one truth sentence jumps into my thoughts, namely “What you cannot do humanly, God can do spiritually.” I cannot do my healing humanly, but God can heal me and everybody spiritually!!!
Wow, such a wonderful and comforting Truth!
Thank you Evan and thank you God!♡♡♡

  10. My Granny told me “I can’t” means “I don’t want to.”
It’s a thought worth considering! It does point to getting a false sense of self out of the way, like self-willl, and making way for humility to do God’s will.

  11. Thank you, Evan! Thank you everyone!
This was a most inspiring loving Spiritview sharing that was perfect for me today.
    Most grateful.
