I don’t know where this originated, but I love the point…
“Jacob was a cheater, Peter had a temper, David had an affair, Noah got drunk, Jonah ran from God, Paul was a murderer, Gideon was insecure, Miriam was a gossiper, Martha was a worrier, Thomas was a doubter, Sarah was impatient, Elijah was moody, Moses stuttered, Zaccheus was short, Abraham was old, and Lazarus was dead…. Now, what’s YOUR excuse? Can God use you or not?
“God doesn’t call the qualified, he qualifies the CALLED!”
I like this – it’s really down to earth 🙂 – I am not too fond of the word ‘use’ though. The last sentence is great! Thanks, Evan.
Wow, this quote really resonated with me, as I had been spending too much time this morning feeling completely unworthy, even as a failure, because I haven’t been making any progress in my studying and praying. I’ve been letting all kinds of physical problems get to me and dwelling on them as something real and scary – – not being able to feel God’s nearness or His loving direction! Now, I will humbly let God “qualify” me. Thank you, Evan. sas
This is great and I thought, quite funny. It put a smile on my face. The point is well taken and I can only hope that God uses me as He did the people mentioned. Thank you Evan for taking the time to share your great blogs with all of us.
Yes indeed! We are all useful to God in some way! Made me think, how am I expressing the talents God has given me and showing Love to each one I encounter? Thanks Evan>
Great point. And what’s that line I used to hear from Scientists, “Matter doesn’t matter!” Maybe our “qualities” come forth as we accept the call?
Loved this one, along with the Seventh Day.

and we are all called, so all qualified
