It’s a hard concept for the human mind to rationalize, but it makes perfect sense from a spiritual point of view. God is good and sees only good.
A mind of goodness is capable only of seeing goodness. That’s what it thinks about, is aware of, and sees: its own goodness.
God is a divine Mind that is wholly good. This Mind of God sees good everywhere it looks.
This is good news for you and me, for we can find peace in knowing that when God looks at us, God sees only goodness in us.
As the Bible reminds us, “Thou are of purer eyes than to behold evil, and canst not look on iniquity” (Hab. 1:13).
God never sees evil in you. Ever. He only sees what you are capable of being as a beloved, immortal child of God.
You can advance more rapidly by doing the same.
See what God sees. Shut down mortal mind and any demoralized views of self that may be captivating your attention and stick with what God knows about you. It’s good: very, very good!
Thank you.
Wonderful Evan, thank you.
God sees only good because that is the only real. Thank you, Evan for allthese wonderful post.
W H E W !!
Ditto!
❤️❤️❤️
As God is “of purer eyes than to behold evil, and canst not look on iniquity”, that is because evil
does not really exist. because God, who made all,
is all good, and Evan so beautifully puts it.
This week’s Bible Lesson is filled with statements telling us that evil is not real. that it is nothing claiming to be something. Jesus demonstrated it so perfectly for us in his mission. If something is real it cannot be cast out, but if we accept the fact that it is not real, it can be cast out. Casting out nothing should not be difficult, and the spiritual perfect idea is then able to shine out from what appeared to be a threat to our well-being.
But if we have been fooled into believing in evil
as real, God cannot see us, although we are
still His perfect reflection, and He is still loving us. we have, ,in effect, hidden ourselves from Him. So when Adam was tempted to believe in an apple as having
power, God could not see him.
So it boils down to, are we going to believe in an apple,(or material suggestions) or in God?!!!? I would like to see myself and everyone else, as “the apple of God’s eye.”
(To be “the apple of one’s eye” means to be a person or thing that is cherished above all others, a favorite who is loved and valued the most.)
Wonderful, insightful thoughts Maggie, thank you for sharing them.
Maggie, great thought about hiding ourselves from God’s correct view of His ideas, children. We must and will as promised claim our good and loving God and only then can we accept our freedom from matter based thinking TO Spirit knowing.
Thank you SV
Dear Friends,
it has occurred to me that I may have misunderstood the hiding ourselves from God’s correct view of His ideas: the way it occurs to me is the false, relative view (the Adam dream) makes it difficult to see God, and subsequently, all of Creation/Revelation as He is; but I love all of the insights that Evan’s beautiful message is reverberating through you all! Thank you all. Love,
Emmy
That’s the way I have also thought of it, Emilie. Thank you.
“Knowing you’re good” By Deborah Huebsch. From the September 6, 2017 issue of The Christian Science Monitor:

God never sees evil in you or anyone. . Ever.
Behold the perfect child.
“Shut down mortal mind and any demoralized views of self that may be
captivating your attention and stick with what God knows about you” Yes!
Love that and Thank you, Evan. All of these thoughts are so helpful in
seeing the perfect being that we all are – children of God – innocent, pure,
loving and lovely.
Angel I also keyed in on that comment from today’s message where Evan mentions a “demoralized view of self.” I thought, do I really know what demoralized means? I did, generally speaking, but I took the time to look it up and found these definitions:
Demoralized- To deprive a person or persons of spirit, courage, confidence, hope. To become disheartened. To make downhearted. To confuse or put into disorder.
Sounds like the work of error/mortal mind to me! God never can create these kinds of feelings in His beloved child, He never sees us this way, but just the opposite. So yes Evan we can, with God’s help, discard any “demoralized views of self that may be captivating our attention” and stick with the complete good that God knows about us. Thank you!
Thank you, Rose, for this extended view. I further looked it
up in my Random House dictionary, too and it mentions what
you have shared, but also: “to bewilder – to corrupt or
undermine the morals of”. So that would be reverting back
to the Adam dream view, wouldn’t it – the good vs. evil …
Spirit vs. matter view … immortal vs. mortal way of looking
at things. Like you wrote, “the work of error/mortal mind”.
Also as Philip had said in his lecture, 2 + 2 = 4. No matter
how many times it is incorrectly believed to be true, such as
2 + 2 = 7, or how many people are seen to believe it as being
anything other than what is the Truth, it is not. Just like any
number times zero, no matter how large – is Still zero = nothing.
Thank you to everyone for sharing such uplifting thoughts today, in real need of seeing the true idea, You have all guided me to realise we all need to adhere to the true and the good. Just as our Father made us.
Thank you everyone for your comments. It’s such a wonderful thing to know that God not only created us all, but created us all very good. The carnal mind is enmity against God and would love us to believe otherwise. But it lies and must be cast out of thought, This weeks lesson is so powerful and helpful in explaining this.
Thank you SV
Thank you Evan….more spiritual food for thought!
So easy to say or read that God knows only the good in his children…but the depth of our understanding and conception of why this is can be less easy to grasp if we are seemingly dealing with a lot of ‘’stuff!’’ ( apologies if that’s just me! )
On U tube there is a talk by Phillip Hockley called A New View of God. I’ve viewed it several times but think the explanation of grasping reflection/ expression of all that God gives us here is very helpful and revealing. Fast forward to just after 29 mins. I’m sorry I can’t give you a site link.
I’m so looking forward to a weekend of comments….happy, healing times to all.❣️
Hi Barbara, thanks. Here’s a link to the Philip Hockely lecture. He has been giving this excellent lecture on A New View of God for a number of years, and youtube has several of them posted. They are very similar in content. This one is from 2023. Enjoy!

I have seen this lecture and it is marvellous. However I have always struggled to understand reflection and the mirrored image. If I stand with my back against the mirror and look out obviously I will see everything …….. Still cannot get it. Thank you all for wonderful replies to Evan’s Post.
Hi Caz…that is exactly how I was …stuck in seeing the intended interpretation. Then it came to me that what is meant here is that if we look in a mirror we see the reflection of ourselves…a bit off some days, rather material in look and thinking. But then if we stand with our back to the mirror …God good is looking toward us and can only see the reflection of Him/Herself. ie all good…all perfect..eternally loved. And that is the real man!
Hope this helps to bring some clarity.B.x
And bless you Rose for the link….Bx
Amen to BarbaraUK, love, loved, LOVED the crystal clear sharing of “God good is looking toward us and can only see the reflection of Him/Herself. . .all perfect….eternally loved.” “:that is the real man!” comes at the just the moment in time that I am NEEDING to see my son in JUST THIS VIEW, now and always. TY
I love this example of reflection given in this article.
“Hereditary illness healed” by Corinne Jane Teeter. From the January 1, 1999 issue of The Christian Science Sentinel:

I have been thinking about this, too, Dear Caz and this is my take on it.
When we look in a mirror, we are seeing a limited, human/mortal with
seeimingly good or bad qualities. We are not “seeing” God, because
God can not be “seen”. When we look away from the mirror, we may
see other humans/mortals, but they also are Not God. Out of the 8
billion or so individuals in the world, if every one of them or a picture
of them were to stand in front of us, none of them Are God. They
reflect God’s qualities, but they are Not God. Now, with the radio
analogy, it is a perfect example. There are limitless radio waves swirling
around us that we can not experience with the material senses. We can not
see, touch, smell, taste them, but they are there. Only by tuning in to
them and listening, (not with mortal ears), but by something beyond
our limited hearing, can we really Know that they are around us. So it
is with God, I believe. His/Her Love is surrounding us, even if we can
not “physically” see it. But we need to be tuned in or we will not
experience the true expression of our being. It doesn’t mean that we
are not being Loved, because God’s Love is surrounding us, if we are
aware of it (mortally) or not. There are many different wave lengths
there, but we can not “see” them. Some may be a station that has
music, some news, some weather, etc. But these are all in the Now –
they are not transcribed back into the past, or can not be “listened to”
in the future. They are not tangible mortally. The vessel they come
through can be in differing forms – portable, on a stereo system, in
a car, etc. But if a radio is dropped on the floor, missing a part and/or
visibly flawed, materially, it doesn’t mean the radio waves are not still
surrounding it. If in the dark, these Seeming appearances, (like human/
mortal beings) may Seem to not be reflecting God, but that doesn’t
mean that their True identity can not still be listened to and tuned in
to, even if the false so-called matter is not visually looking away from
this unreliable perception.
I think what is meant by Philip’s example of the mirror reflection – is
that – if we continue to look in a mirror or at any human/mortal – we
are not seeing God’s reflection, because God is not in Any mortal form,
no “matter” how perfect, beautiful, handsome – or not, it Seems to be.
When we are looking to a physical, mortal person or image, we are
not Reflecting God, but are breaking the commandment of having
another God.
I don’t know if this is correct in my way of interpreting what he was
saying, but this is my understanding of it.
That is the way I see it also, Carol. The analogy of reflection in a mirror is really only to help us to understand that the
reflection must be exactly like the original.
So as we come to understand more about God and His nature, that is what we are
looking to reflect. It is not intended that what we actually see in the mirror is the spiritual fact. Looking away from the material picture, we find God through our spiritual senses which we need to develop
through our studies and demonstrations.
as God cannot be seen by the so-called material senses.
Thank you, Dear Maggie. I am reminded of Mrs. Eddy’s
mention in Pond and Purpose in Mis Writings on pg.203,
Prose Works, where she writes, “From my tower window,
as I look on this smile of Christian Science, this gift from
my students and their students, it will always mirror their
love, loyalty, and good works. Solomon saith, ‘As in water
face answereth to face, so the heart of man to man'”.
The Spiritual lives on into eternity and can not be seen,
like the Love of God, can not be Seen, but it is spiritually
Felt.
That’s lovely, Carol – thank you for reminding me of those passages.. It seems
to me that it is the demonstration of love, the gratitude, the feeling of God’s love for us. and letting that Love be reflected and living in us. So we can live and experience that good which God sees in us and find our true being. in accord with God’s loving will for us.
Thank you everyone for your sharing today. It has been so helpful. I was working on the idea of “image.”.A wonderful insight is from him number 144/3 verse “for God, immortal Principe, is with us everywhere; He holds us perfect in His love, and we His image bear.“
Holding this idea in my heart and thought for one and all.
There is so much to be grateful for!
Many thanks Sue K, for hymn number 144/3 “with us everywhere; He hold us perfect . . . we His image bear.” “for God, immortal Principe, is with us everywhere; hits a broken nail on the head, after learning the opposite image my son is thinking he is reflecting. It is clearly not the HIM God made, and it’s defeating his self image at the moment. Your sharing KEEPS me “with us everywhere, my son included. I am blessed from your sharing.
