If you’d like to see more clearly with your eyes, it’s helpful to understand the truth about eyes from a spiritual point of view.
The Bible tells us, “The hearing ear, and the seeing eye, the Lord hath made even both of them” (Proverbs 20:12).
A “seeing eye” is the only kind of eye God made, and each of us possess it as an heir of God’s faculties.
This seeing eye is not a material organ in the skull. It’s a faculty of Mind, located in Spirit. We use it metaphysically, as an activity of consciousness.
When we look for God’s goodness and see it, we are using our eyes properly. And the vision will be clear.
If we look and behold evil, we are not using our God given eyes, and the view before our eyes could be murky, misty, even dark.
Good eyesight is all about seeing what God created. It’s the activity of seeing spiritual truth, the spiritual man, the perfect man, the spiritual universe, the omnipresence of Love, and the intelligence of Mind.
God gave you good eyesight. It’s a permanent part of your spiritual being. Use it abundantly. You’ll like what you see.
Thank you Evan, that is especially meaningful to me at this present moment! You always have something relevant to current situations. X
This applies to hearing and ears too!!! I looked it up and the word “hear” appears 550 times in the King James Bible (that doesn’t include other forms of hear: “hearer,” “hearers,” “hearest,” “heareth,” and “hearing”)!!! “See” appears 597 times. Clearly there’s lots to see and hear! A favorite Bible verse (Exodus 14:13) says, ” Fear ye not, stand still, and SEE the salvation of the Lord, which he will shew to you to day…” The Israelites saw it when God parted the Red Sea, and we get to see it when we’re still and trusting. Thanks so much DEAR Evan! Like Dilys this post is so meaningful! and applicable
Thank you, Evan. Great picture to go along with your post.

Eyes: spiritual discernment
Thank you Evan for opening our eyes and ears to discern more effectively the truth of our real being which includes perfect seeing, hearing and knowing.
“I see” also indicates understanding. Excellent subject and picture. Thank you.
“Seeing with greater clarity” We are actually God’s offspring, expressing Him, able to see clearly the good that God sees. By Janet Heineman Clements. From the June 2000 issue of The Christian Science Journal:

Thank you, Evan.
Thank you Evan and everyone. Hymn 140 is helpful to me. “If on our daily course our mind be set to hallow all we find, new treasures still of countless price, God will provide for sacrifice.”
It is beautiful seeing the truth from a spiritual point of view. Thank you, dear Evan
and all, for these truly eye opening thoughts to see. The heavenly scenery above
of the mountains, sky, water, etc. blends so lovingly with the perspective of Spirit.
From the article, (Thank you dear J ), “…. the power of the Christ, cleansing
[the] man’s thought, washing away the Adam-and-Eve belief of life in matter that
would blind one to the presence of God’s spiritual creation” …. brings from the
shadows into the sunlight – a revelation shown to us in so many differing ways,
but God-revealed with spiritual discernment.
Thank you so so so much for this helpful spiritual sharing. A blessiing.
Thank you Evan and everyone for your contributions to the conversation today. Here’s another excellent article on this topic…

Thankyou Evan, still relevant to me.
Such a wonderful koncept, that its all ideas in our consciousness.
Perfect explanation of spiritual meaning of eyes- seeing the reality of our true being. Thanks a lot Evan
I really appreciate this lift and the “discussion” which followed.and the articles recommended. Very helpful to me as I work towards healing.
Thank you Evan!
I come to your web sight here when I need healing, and I always find it.
Dear Evan, thank you very. very much for today’s healing SpiritView. Always when the sentence appeared in the lesson sermon, that vision and hearing are total spiritual and therefore cannot diminish in quality, I was so happy and comforted. However in former times I just thought about seeing all t h i n g s perfectly.
But I’m grateful for what Evan explains to us, namely that vision is not just a material organ, but a faculty of Mind, located in Spirit and therefore not vulnerable. And I love a lot this explanation of Evan :”When we look for God’s goodness and see it, we are using our eyes properly and the vision will be clear.”
Anyway, I love this whole SpiritView very much!!!
Studying our Lesson Sermon helps very much to see all things spiritual through our spiritual sense. I’m glad and grateful that I have the opportunity to work and pray for a clearer vision and understanding. Spiritual understanding is also a kind of seeing.
Hymn # 14 I found ver suitable and inspiring for today’s toppic and also for yesterday’s toppic!!
And I thank you all for your helpful comments and the articles from dear J. and dear RobertH.
Lots of Love to all. ❤️
Thank you so much, Evan, for these healing thoughts of guidance and showing us the spiritual way pf seeing. Thank you J and RpbertH for the articles and all of you for the inspiring comments.
In dealing with seeing, I find it helpful to think about Mrs. Eddy’s definition of God as the Great I Am. The All-knowing, All-seeing, All-acting, All-wise, All-loving and eternal. In working with this, I see myself( and others as the image and likeness of the All-in-All God. As His image, I know everything I need to know when I need to know it; I see everything I need to see when I need to see it and I see with clarity, discernment, perception, understanding, I can do and accomplish whatever God has for me to do as His active child; AND I can know, see, and do all wisely and lovingly as I know God does. This starts my day off well, and I need to know it more consistently with unceasing prayer. A work in progress, for sure.
I am so grateful for Christian Science and this wonderful SpiritView Blog. A real blessing for me, us, and the world.
Thank you very much, dear Pad W for reminding us, that we can work and pray with Mrs. Eddy’s precious definition of God as the great I AM, the Allknowing, Allseeing, Allacting. etc.
That is indeed very helpful and necessary for our prayerwork for us all and the world!
I am also utmost thankful for Evan’s healing and blessing SpiritView Blog!
Thanks for such a spiritually refreshing picture up here! ♡
