As the calendar turns the page on an old year into a new one, it’s a short moment to think about what is important up ahead. Meaningful progress is always traced back to spiritual progress.
May your New Year be filled with monumental spiritual progress!
May your thought leap and bound in a growing understanding of spiritual reality—discerning between what is true and what is not true—understanding God to be the sum and substance of all that is right, and evil as void of any rights.
May you be quick to spot trouble when it comes knocking on your mental door, and even quicker to refuse it entry.
May you be quick to forgive, eager to be patient, and ready to listen and understand.
May your heart overflow with generous unconditional love.
May you be quick to spot the good in neighbors and give them credit for it.
May you listen to spiritual sense, rather than material sense.
May you stay spiritually minded as a routine!
May the love of God dominate your thought, inspire your actions, and be obvious in everything you do.
May your year be filled with heavenly abundance that meets all human needs.
May your year be progressive, inspired and spiritually productive.
Wishing you all the best as 2026 takes form.
Happy New Year!
“Truth makes a new creature, in whom old things pass away and “all things are become new.” Passions, selfishness, false appetites, hatred, fear, all sensuality, yield to spirituality, and the superabundance of being is on the side of God, good” (Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures, Mary Baker Eddy, p. 201)
Thankyou so so much Evan.
This is the prayer of the year!
Much love and gratitude
Thank you Evan, such beautiful actions to move forward with, sentiments to act upon and truths to bolster our every motive.
“Lang may yer lum reek” an old Scots Ne’er Day greeting. Literally, “may your chimney always smoke”. Of course to do so means having the abundance of home, hearth and wherewithall to buy provisions.

“Does progress require process?” By Moriah Early-Manchester. From the October 8, 2024 issue of The Christian Science Sentinel:
https://www.csmonitor.com/Commentary/A-Christian-Science-Perspective/2024/1008/Does-progress-require-process/?src=shared
Recently, I’ve been thinking of this quote from the Bible where Jesus said, “What things soever ye desire, when ye pray, believe that ye receive them, and ye shall have them.” (Mark 11:24) In 2026 it would be wonderful to move past thinking of being a “work in progress”, (which is a mortal time measurement/limitation) to having more understanding of the above Bible quote. Any thoughts on the quote?
Once a Christian friend told me that God knows we’re just human and are weak. I asked her what kind of God would create a substandard creature and expect it to try to improve itself, even though it can’t. I have been thinking about a comment from one in the group about thanking God for giving her husband what seemed to be lacking, ie patience etc. She eventually saw what she was declaring about God in front of her, and why not? It’s about God being All in all, not the person. I am using this more and more for myself and others— Thank God we receive the qualities from him and that we have them. A statement in the Sentinel Watch about forgiveness is helpful. “I see them as God’s expression: fully equipped all the time.” If there is a mistake or muddy thinking, I thank God I am fully equipped with clarity of thought, all the time and _______ is fully equipped with clarity of thought because we are reflections of you Father-Mother God. Fully equipped with thoughts from your infinitely clear Mind all the time. This is God’s show, not our show. This keeps me busy with lots of qualities. The Bible does say we go from strength to strength, not from weakness to strength. We do progress, because progress is a law of God, and we get to see more and more of God’s endless good.
Thank you Kay for your thoughtful response. I especially love the idea of being fully equipped and the shift in thought that brings. Much to ponder.
Thank you Kay for those absolute Truths you uttered. As J already said, I also love the truth that God’s precious man (we) is fully equipped with all qualities he needs, so as clarity of thought and other qualities as God’s fully able expression. I myself am praying to be more and more aware of this divine truth, which is my goal for this new year. our Father-Mother God is with us. Am so very grateful for this comfort and great spiritual fact!
Thanks a lot dear J for this very inspiring and, yes, eye opening article. It’s worth listening to!
Thank you Evan for this heartfelt New Year’s blessing. I love the phrase: “May your thought leap and bound in a growing understanding of spiritual reality.” What a joyous and active state of being to embrace. Happy New Year everyone.
Thank you Evan for this perfect prayer! I plan to post it on my mirror or inside my closet door. You give us such inspiration. I so appreciate all of it and I too wish you a very happy, progressive, love filled new year!

Thank you Evan,
“May your year be filled with heavenly abundance that meets all human needs.”
“prove me now herewith, saith the LORD of hosts, if I will not open you the windows of heaven, and pour you out a blessing, that there shall not be room enough to receive it.” Malachi 3:10
At this time of the year I am reminded of Mrs Eddy’s New year messages Message for 1900 , 1901
Many thanks Evan and a happy New Year to you and to everyone!
Mary Baker Eddy, January 1, 1910

Thanks for a great uplift in today’s message Evan! Happy New Year to you and your family and to all our extended SV family!
Amen to “monumental spiritual progress.” I guess I usually think that spiritual progress is slow and steady, but it’s great to know it can be “monumental” and in “leaps and bound.” Great!
Right on Evan!
Happy New Year to you and yours as well
Re:J. And Mark 11:24
I interpret this as Jesus saying Believe it because it is already true.
Thank you Evan and everyone for these inspirations for the new year. If I
and we all and the entire world would strive to adhere to them, what a wonderful
world it would be. There would be peace and spiritual blessings abound. A
great list of goals to try to keep. Thank you.
I’m deeply grateful for your countless and priceless healing spiritual views you gave us so lovingly last year, dear Evan! And what you say, Carol, I too have a list of goals, of healing goals I’m working to keep, together with our great God. That is doable, because God is all in all and we are unseparable from our loving Father-Mother God.
I’m also very thankful for all the uplifting and helpful inspiring comments of this wonderful SpiritView family! ❤️
Thank you for sharing this uplifting blessing! I’ve printed it out to refer to as I start my day as a reminder to notice and participate in the “superabundance of being.” Wishing you and your family a joyous New Year!
