Has anyone ever falsely accused you? Maybe they articulated a slew of lies that attempt to make you look like you’re a horrible person, when you’re actually a very good person and have no desire to harm anyone?
If the unfounded accusations come have no fear of them. Like the ricochet, they return to where they came from and fail to land on their intended target.
A lie is a lie is a lie, and a lie is never truth no matter how much it asserts itself. It can only destruct as truth demands recognition.
The Bible reminds us, “Like a fluttering sparrow or a darting swallow, an undeserved curse will not land on its intended victim” (Proverbs 26:2, NLT).
Have no fear of undeserved curses. Don’t react to them as if they are true. Exercise spiritual poise and dominion despite them and prove them untrue!
Let truth speak for itself.

About 10 years ago I went through this at work from a VERY unexpected source and was never given the opportunity to defend myself.
Once again, Mother’s Evening Prayer, played a huge part in my prayers about that lamentable situation.
“Only with mine eye, can I behold the snare the pit, the fall.”
I see now, that the human vitriol, wrongly expressed from that group of people, “never was”
A beautiful poem in the book;

“It cannot be”, “It never was”,
Yet error lingered on,
‘Til Love divine dissolved the lie
And “never was” was gone.

When I saw your name, it said to me , “She laughs”. That is what I do about lies, I laugh and never react to them. Some who are unfamiliar with CS, may see this as a sign of guilt or fear, but this is the way Christ handled lies, and it’s the better way. Oh, how often have I experienced this in different ways! And yet each experience of this lying suggestion strengenthens our trust in the Christ, that divine idea which restores the Truth to consciousness, that God good is the only creator and that we have no power to do anything that is contrary to the good we are created to express. Yep!, Been there done that. Don’t believe it one bit. God has protected me and guided me through that specific situation and everything about it was untrue. Of the other party and of me. We are God’s creation and not our own. Christian Science has help me so much in this type of situation and I for one am very thankful for it.
The angry, accusatory or hurtful words of others cannot harm the child of God (which we all are). Those words may say more about the speaker and their world view than about the one they are accusing. Also God never actually made an angry accuser who spreads lies, so we can see beyond the exterior picture to know that person is “harmless as a dove.”
Once, during a family gathering, a relative was accusing me of a list of many wrongdoings that she felt I did towards her over the years. I got so frustrated that by the end of the day I finally said, “Ok you win, I’m a horrible person.” She said, in her own frustration, “Yes you are.” It was not what you’d call our finest hour. It took a long time for me to view that incident spiritually but now I can, for the most part, see her as a pure and perfect child of God, innocent, but only appearing to misunderstand certain things. Both she and I are harmless as doves.
Yes! And it used to be a shock when it came up because almost always it came from people I had gone beyond the call of duty to help. I had to learn the difference between “unselfish” love and “unselfed” love. The latter is SUNSHINE love that gives unconditionally without any concern for validation. I wasn’t conscious of seeking validation at the time but when the unwarranted hatred seemed vicious, I realized good on a personal basis is not guaranteed to be the best we can or SHOULD offer. Christ Jesus never produced on “human” demand … when his mother told him there was a need for wine at a wedding, for example, he didn’t respond at first as she asked (see John 2:1-11) as if to say “why bring me into this private & “personal” demand?” It wasn’t intended as a harsh rebuke but more as a gentle reminder that Jesus did things at God’s bidding and not in response to being a human do-gooder. I love the Bible quote you shared because it shows that what someone else thinks or says about us is really powerless to bring us down to the level of being a mortal. We know WHO we are, and WHAT we are in the firm foundation of Mind’s loving embrace. There is no other influence to take that status away. Yay to that realization!!

Like others on this site , I so apreciate this one Evan . I , as others , have had to pray my way thru what appeared as unwarranted opposition and false accusation . My solution ? To strive for a greater sense of love to all . Eddy says : “ Error bites the heel of truth, but cannot kill
truth. Truth bruises the head of error — destroys error.
Spirituality lays open siege to materialism.“ . We should not be surprised if , when working sincerely in Christian Science – we meet opposition .
This was a wonderful experience for me – it taught me many lesson which have stood me in good stead . I was confronted by intense and critical opposition to my rural business when new people moved into my area . I simply HAD TO STAND firm and REFUSE to see them as anything other than God’s children . My testimony of this experience was published in the Sentinel , titled “ “ Love Dissolves Opposition “ in April/May 2015 .
I share this as I think we all are handling ( in some way ) that false claim of mortal mind ( untrue ) that we are separated from God and from each other .

God is always right on time. The agony of hopelessness tried its best to bring me down over the past couple of days, but, getting a change of scenery helped tremendously to restore my right thinking. Isaiah’s words (chapter 40, verse 31) cradle me and give me strength to move forward during this uncertain period of transition.
“but those who wait on the Lord
will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not faint.”
Another useful Bible verse is:
No weapon formed against you shall prosper,
And every tongue which rises against you in judgment
You shall condemn.
This is the heritage of the servants of the Lord,
And their righteousness is from Me,”
Says the Lord. Isaiah 54:17 A dear friend taught me that when challenged to think ill of or be fearful of someone in any way, that a useful tool is to “Just love.” Sometimes error gets a foothold and uses persons as pawns to hurt us. if we are alert, or when we awaken to Truth, we will not be moved. I’m glad I was brought out of what could have become a devastating depression. Why would I willingly take the hand of evil and follow down that path when THIS is the day that the Lord has made and my choice is to rejoice and be glad in it. The Lord IS on my side! I will not fear what man can do to me! Psalm 118:6

I am reminded, with the photo above, of early paintings of Biblical times
where often the artist would have those depicted, pointing upwards,
whose interpretation meant, “I am thinking of higher (/Godlike/
more Spiritual)” things. When we are thinking Spiritually, not carnally,
mortally – harmony prevails in all ways and always.

I love A Rule for Motives and Acts by Mary Baker Eddy: ” Neither animosity nor mere personal attachment should impel the motives or acts of the members of the Mother Church….” I have learned not to return in kind what I perceive to be animosity directed toward me and to pray to know that God’s man knows how to love correctly.
About a year ago, I was scammed out of thousands of dollars and was promised that I would get the money back. But as time went on, that did not happen. I spent a lot of time and energy trying to get the money returned. I called a Christian Science Practitioner who assured me that God’s law was in operation. When I felt I had exhausted every human footsteps and was at a loss as to what to do next. I physically stopped trying. Then what seemed to be a short time after I received a phone call late one evening from the perpetrators, who said they would like to return the money, I asked how much, not quite believing this was happening, they said all of it. The call sounded suspicious as they wanted me to come and get it right away. We arranged for the next day. The next day they gave me a check for the full amount and apologized for what had transpired. I was very grateful for this outcome, as it was a lot of money involved which was taken off of my credit cards and I would have been liable to repay the credit card companies over time. This way when the full amount was returned I was able to pay off the debt.

Evan, this is an answer to my prayer. For three years I have been trying to reprove two separate dramatic and consequences of lies, manipulations deceptions, enmeshed with dramatics affecting me and my family, and me. This morning I asked God to help me, and tonight I opened to this.
Even though I’m too tired to really process what I’m reading here now, I will sleep tonight, knowing there is an answer for me.
Grateful for God’s gift through and of you.
