Heal jealousy with gratitude

“Jealousy is vengeful — not to its target but to ourselves.”

~ Terri Guillemets

If ever tempted to feel jealous, take inventory of all the good you have directly from God. It’s not a nicer car, higher position, bigger paycheck, or approval from another that brings the best to life. It’s contentment, spiritual mindedness, love, peace of mind, and the ability to find help in God at any time that truly blesses.

Treat yourself well. Sacrifice jealousy and be grateful. You’ll feel much better about everything.

  1. Gratitude is better than gold. It always satisfies and cannot be lost. Gratitude does not need any “thing” to feel complete and loved. Jealousy does not stand a chance against it. Thank you Evan and Shirley! 🙂

    1. Yes, thank you Kirsten,

that is gorgous how you said it, since real Gratitude is one of the most important healing aspect in Christian Science. 😉

    2. Thank you Maximo and Uta! 🙂 Speaking of gratitude, I want to thank you both for your contributions. I always enjoy all the comments from everyone. And Maximo, when are we going to see some of your poems published in the CS periodicals? I’m looking forward to that! 🙂

  2. Oh Evan thank you awfully for today`s SpiritView which I find, is loving and healing!

You clarify my thinking insofar that you declare, to be grateful for everything God already has given us in full, what you said “its contentment, spiritual mindedness, love, peace of mind, and the ability to find help in God at any time that truly blesses.” ..the ability to find help in God at any time …, is very helpful for me presently, am grateful you mentioned that!

What is very helpful for today`s topic, too, is one sentence of today`s “Daily Lift”.
There is said: “Christ is the activity of divine Truth and Love in individual lives.”
For me that means, that there can be no inferior activity in my live and consciousness – very comforting!

  3. Jealousy is the fear that you can’t have what someone else has, whether it is a friend, a job, a career, talent in some field; but when we know that we have access to all the good that God has and is, we can smother that feeling of jealousy, let it go with the knowledge that God gives all of His ideas all good. God’s goodness is infinite and is accessible to all.

  4. A grateful heart a garden is,
    Where there is always room
    For every lovely, Godlike grace
    To come to perfect bloom.

A grateful heart a fortress is,
    A staunch and rugged tower,
    Where God’s omnipotence, revealed,
    Girds man with mighty power.

A grateful heart a temple is,
A shrine so pure and white,
Where angels of His presence keep
Calm watch by day or night.

    Grant then, dear Father-Mother, God,
    Whatever else befall,
This largess of a grateful heart
    That loves and blesses all.
