Identify with your immortality

One of the glorious revelations of Christian Science is the truth that man is living his immortal life now, and we, as children of God, possess this immortal life and can experience its blessings to the fullest.

It’s impossible for mortality to constitute the individuality of God’s man, for mortality, by definition, ends in death. It is no more. If man were mortal, he would end. There would be no more evidence of his existence. Yet, Jesus Christ was sent to teach humanity that there is more, that life does not end with so-called death. It goes on in Spirit with God, and is eternal.

Eternal life is existence that has no beginning and no end. It’s like a circle. There is no starting point.

Our life with God is the same way. It does not have a starting point. It always is and always will be, which means, we are sustained by our eternal spiritual life now. Our individuality with God will never end with death.

The only thing that “dies,” is a false concept of life in matter. Our true self with God, in Spirit, goes on forever.

So, what better time to identify with your true selfhood than now! Why wait? See yourself the way God made you in the first place, as spiritual, eternal, immortal, glorious and awesome in God’s image.

Understanding immortality is what defeats the claims of mortality. It leads to spiritual healing.

Mary Baker Eddy wrote, “God is the Principle of man, and man is the idea of God. Hence man is not mortal nor material. Mortals will disappear, and immortals, or the children of God, will appear as the only and eternal verities of man” (Science and Health, p. 476).

You are an immortal child of God, this moment! Live the good life, claim the immortal, and experience its blessings.

  1. It’s so wonderful to realize that we are immortal and in reality there is no death. This totally and absolutely removes the fear of death or the fear of losing a dear one to death.

If God is our Life, then Life has to be immortal. If we live, move and have our being in God, then how can we ever die? Death is only a dream from which we wake up to realize that we still continue living…more alive then ever before.

If we never fear death, and understand that we are living our immortal life in Spirit God now, we would live our life more abundantly, fearlessly, vigorously, divinely and gratefully. The concept of ageing would vanish, youth would sit on every cheek, smile on ever face and the great, eternal God infinitely glorified.

Thanks Evan for dawning upon us this wonderful truth of our life hid with Christ in God and eternally blessed.

  2. Evan and Nergish, Thank you both for the uplifting thoughts, I was some what struggling this morning with this idea of death and these statements were just what I needed to get back on track

  3. Very helpful ! Thank you Evan and Nergish. It is the “false concept of life in matter that “dies” “, true spiritual man goes on.

  4. Thank you Evan and Nergish❣️❣️
Really wonderful to read your words and thoughts. Great way to start this day and this week.

  5. My mother, while not a churchgoer, identified as a Christian Scientist all her life. She never feared death–even when she was in a nursing home. I wasn’t there when she died, but the nurse said she came in and asked my mother, “Would you like a cinnamon roll?” She smiled and said yes, and then she died. I thought that was a pleasant way to go! 🙂 I always admired her faith. I think that level of faith is what I’m trying to recapture in my return to Christian Science.

  6. Knowing the term of ‘immortality’ brings a great peace to me today, “Understanding immortality is what defeats the claims of mortality. It leads to spiritual healing.”
This day is frought with claims of mortality which are entirely untrue; now I have to prove this and witness spiritual healing. I love to be awakened to these weapons so I can prove the Truth, now.

  7. “Entirely separate from the belief and dream of material living, is the Life divine, revealing spiritual understanding and the consciousness of man’s dominion over the whole world.”

Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures, page 25,
    by Mary Baker Eddy.

God’s man is not a dreamer or believer.

  9. so easy to think – well we are humanly here now……but made spiritually. Evan’s approach is radical to that…. & I’m pondering it!!

  10. Thank you very much, Evan, for making us the christian scientific truth so clear and bringing it us so near!
I also do need this truth of today`s SpiritView just now very much! It comforts me, lets fear
deminish and makes me humbly grateful for the wonderful teachings of Christian Science, for Mrs. Eddy and Christ Jesus, all showing us convincingly that Life is eternal, because our Life is God! What an endless comfort and blessing God gave us with this!
Thank you all for your helpful comments!

  11. I have some statements taped to our bathroom mirror. One is from MY 242. It says, “You can never demonstrate spirituality until you declare yourself to be immortal and understand that you are so.” Kind of fits with this post! Thanks to all.

  12. Thank you all for the helpful comments. Every day we should claim our immortality. Life will be a bountiful of blessings when we do. So grateful for Christian Science and SpiritView. Always a blessing each day.

  13. Today I’m not mortal. Today there’s no matter.
Today the only reality is God’s likeness. Today all the evidences of material sense is erroneous.
Today there are no material senses.
Today all around my existence is perfect.
Having been blessed by digesting the pamphlet “To Be A Christian Science Practitioner”
A compilation of several articles written be practitioners.
Thanks to all for this unspeakable gift.
Today God has lightened my way…
