Keep disease out of thought

January 9, 2012 | 2 comments

With the onslaught of depressing medical updates and reports of aggressive disease pouring into the population’s mind through the media, it is vital that one vigorously defend thought from any fear of disease ever getting lodged there.
The human body is human thought.  Whatever is held in the human thought governing a particular body is prone to show up on that body, if not checked, because the body and thought are essentially one and the same.
So, if you don’t want to carry a disease around in your body, be sure to never let it take up residence in your thought.  A consciousness of Truth and Love are your sure defense!
Success requires daily prayer and spiritual watchfulness.  It takes metaphysical “work.”  But the work is worth the reward and protection that result.

One should never hold in mind the thought of disease,
but should efface from thought all forms and types of disease,
both for one’s own sake and for that of the patient.”

~Mary Baker Eddy

  1. Well, Evan, you stated that about as clearly as I’ve ever seen. “The human body is human thought”. That’s why Christian Scientists don’t (usually) doctor the body, but pray for thought to be transformed to the divine concept. A radical approach to health care that truly heals at the source. In essence we aren’t trying to change the body but are changing our thought to conform to the divine concept. Grasping this concept of human mind and human body being essentially the same is important in our “work”. It’s exciting because thought can be changed! And body then does conform to that change. It works! You put all of this so succinctly in your article. THANKS!
