Let God take the lead

August 15, 2025 | 22 comments

If you ever feel like you’re in a battle with a neighbor, a project, the body, or a disease, it might help to step back and let God take the lead.

God always knows best what to do and how to do it.  But to experience the freeing power of God, we need to let God do what God can do!

As the Old Testament David declared with absolute conviction when preparing to face Goliath, “The battle is the Lord’s,” (I Samuel 17:47) we too can remember that whatever battle we are facing, is not ours to fight through human will or brute force.  It’s about getting the human mind out of the way and letting the divine Mind take the right-of-way.

As we let Truth lead the way, we see open paths that human will is blind too.  As we let Love inspire our point of view, we see options that anger and resentment never notice.

Let the battle “be the Lord’s.”

When God takes the lead, victory is assured.

    1. Dear Barbara,
After reading this article several times,
      I feel free
I live in a retirement center and I am being bullied by a woman who dishes out our food. (She seems to be dishing out a lot more than the food!) This has been going on for weeks. Anyway, this article hit the spot!

Thank you for sharing this article by Pam Savage!

  1. Dear Evan,

You will never know how spot on this SpiritView is for a problem that I have been working through. The treatment for the claim as you state it is so simple. Thank you so much.

  2. Thank you Evan, and thank you BarbaraUK for the wonderful article that I look forward to reading.

I came across a quote by Mary Baker Eddy: “I am different from other mortals in many respects, one of them being that I more frequently get out of God’s way.”
Here’s more on the quote from an AI overview: “The Mary Baker Eddy quote is attributed to a household worker. She made this statement, emphasizing her belief that she was different from others in that she actively worked to remove her own perceived limitations to allow God’s will to be expressed. The quote highlights her understanding of divine power and the importance of aligning oneself with God’s will.”

  3. Thankyou Evan, for this reminder, it reminded me of a book I’ve read on this subject.
it’s called LET GOD DO IT. by WENTWORTH BYRON WINSLOW. Very thought provoking. thankyou SV family for your inspired thoughts.

  4. Thank you so much, Evan and all for the enlightening words of inspiration
in letting God take the lead. I have always found that God’s way always
turns out to be the best way. The saying, “I plan, God laughs” comes
to mind. Often God has plans for us that we couldn’t even possibly
imagine that far exceed our own little mortal will of thinking. In the vast
forever of endless Love, we are included within this eternity of unending
    Good. What a lovely thought.

    1. “In the vast
      forever of endless Love”
