Let Mind delineate health on the body

January 30, 2018 | 24 comments

“You embrace your body in your thought, and you should delineate upon it thoughts of health, not of sickness.”
~ Mary Baker Eddy, Science and Health, p. 208

Let divine Mind alone form and shape your concept of health.
Banish all arguments that contend for sickness and suffering.
Agree only with what you wish to manifest.
Disagree with any suggestion you want no part of.
Honor God as the sole determiner of your health, and the body will register the good effects of your prayer.

  1. Marvellous!

    Thank you Evan.

Today, I honour Love, Life & Truth, I will “know” and be known in the knowing.

    Love, light and peace ♡

  2. Thank you Even! It is so powerful to consider one pure Truth and deeply consider the practical application of that Truth. I’m looking forward to staying with this idea closely today! And I’m looking forward to the unfoldment of good!

  3. Thank you Evan. This is quite a deepening for me. To change requires a bright light on old erroneous thoughts that never were anything to start with. I am so grateful to even know a little bit that life is based on goodness and love. This will be my lesson this week.

  4. Thanks for this message today! It’s SO useful.

I’ve been having a challenge with my right hand. Despite not being broken, the doctor’s prognosis is for a long recovery period. I have no desire for that! This week’s Bible Lesson on Love is perfect, as is this message. It’s exactly what I’m focusing on: recognizing my wholeness. Not giving in to a victim mindset (poor me, I fell and hurt myself, and now it’s hard to do everything), but claiming myself as healthy and whole!

    1. Interestingly, it’s exactly what I’ve been praying about for the young gymnasts and athletes who have been in the news as victims of an unscrupulous doctor: delineating thoughts of health and wholeness, untouched by anything else!

      1. Thank you for your comment I am inspired to pray in this way too for those beautiful gymnasts. I am grateful to you for showing me the way

  5. Thanks for another gem Evan.
On Jan 22 you said “mentally step out of the body and acknowledge that you have a perfect spiritual being at-one with God that is in perfect health now where everything is going well.” The words “mentally step out of the body” were a lightening bolt for me and I have stuck with this mental image every time an erroneous suggestion of any type tries to arrive in my thinking. It is hard work but It has been so incredibly helpful in aligning my thoughts with who I really am – an individual spiritual consciousness reflecting only good. I just wanted to share this with our SV community.

    1. That same phrase about mentally stepping out of the body really grabbed my attention too and I have found it very helpful. Thank you dear Evan for the healing work you do so selflessly, right through this blog!

  6. Thank you for this powerful healing message Evan. I, too, found the statement about stepping out of the body so helpful last week. Blessings to each one today.

  7. Thank you Evan, and all for your comments. Just yesterday I remembered this from MBE, S&H p. 111 “…this fact became evident to me, -that Mind governs the body, not partially but wholly.” A fact is a fact!

  8. Thanks, Evan, just what I needed. I’ve been praying with this quote from an article by Hank Teller, Sentinel, January 1, 2018: “I am not governed by material laws, worldly opinions, or diagnoses.” The “diagnoses” was of particular interest as I have been claiming that all of the false beliefs of error are nameless and powerless.

  9. Yes, thanks, Evan and all. What comes to me, too, is Paul’s statement to be “absent from the body, and present with the Lord.” God is All, and we live in Him. I had a quick healing once when I realized my body was in my consciousness, not the other way around—no mind in body.

    1. Thank you Evan and contributors. I needed this reminder today. Daphne, that is exactly what came to mind for me too, especially after reading jhp and Anna’s comments. 🙂

“Therefore we are always confident, knowing that, whilst we are at home in the body, we are absent from the Lord:
(For we walk by faith, not by sight:)
We are confident, I say, and willing rather to be absent from the body, and to be present with the Lord.”
      II Cor 5:6-8

  10. Thank you, writers! Especially loved Daphne’s comment about the body being in consciousness, not the other way around! Amen!

  11. Oh yes, let us honor God as the sole determiner of our real health – and only God, Spirit – not dieting, taking vitamin pills or fitness excercises in order to get our body fitter and healthier. Doing sports that bring us joy and fun and express God`s quality is alright.

And yes, let divine Mind alone form and shape our concept and consciousness of health.

Thank you dear Evan, that you show us the correct way to find real health. And I think thats what we are all looking for!

All dear commenters thank you so very much for your inspiring and interesting comments!

    Love to all!

  12. I’m so encouraged by the beautiful statements of Truth expressed. I felt in need of help this morning and here I found all these beautiful healing angel thoughts . It has empowered me to think correctly instead of taking ease in matter. A BIG thanks to all.

  13. Thank you Evan for the good reminder. And thank you Nancy for this quote “…this fact became evident to me, -that Mind governs the body, not partially but wholly.” Great addition to Evan’s blog. (=
