Live right, think right, speak right, act right, feel right. A life inspired by right ideas from God soars and sings.
Thought in harmony with God is in its right place. The life it inspires flows, the words it shapes bless, the actions it impels have a good effect, and the feeling it produces thrills the heart with heavenly joy.
Mary Baker Eddy wrote, “To begin rightly enables one to end rightly, and thus it is that one achieves the Science of Life, demonstrates health, holiness, and immortality” (Miscellany, p. 274).
Let right ideas coming from God lead the way and inspire your day.
Thank You Evan. Just what I needed to start the day..
Thank you Evan.
Thank you Evan.
Thank you Evan. Mrs. Eddy has many wonderful citations, on right thinking and right acting. . I love “ know, then, that you posses sovereign power to think and act rightly, and that nothing can dispossess you of this heritage and trespass on Love . “ Pulpit and Press page 3 and from
No and Yes”page 12 essence of this Science is right, thinking, and right, acting – leading us to see
Spirituality and to be spiritual, to understand, and to demonstrate God.” And from miscellany page 254.” you will reap the sure, reward of right, thinking, and acting, watching and praying, and you will find the ever -present God an ever -present help.” . Wow and there’s more, thank you so much Evan for this reminder.
To feel right(ly) and good, think and act rightly. Right thinking begins and ends with reasoning and knowing that God is perfect All in all, including a perfect relationship with perfect man, which includes a perfect universe, and the nothingness of sin, disease, death or separate mindedness, bad process or result. This right thinking is moral and ethical because it’s based on gratitude for and trust in God’s infinite goodness, and feeling God’s love for us, and all of creation, so that we are loving of ourselves, and all of every living being and God’s law. That means we are honest, responsible, brave, self-controlled, curious and eager to humbly learn and repent, empathetic, compassionate, grateful, forgiving and gracious. Right thinking is expressed through the fruit of (the) Spirit. Galatians 5:22,23. That means that we express and experience the full range of spirituality’s heroism in the Bible – – the law of love, the prophetic calling to trusting God through faith’s obedience and commitment to social /environmental justice and humble repentant response, the healing universal eternal Christ, the discipleship and apostleship of transformed and inspiring lives uplifting society, overcoming sin/separation, disease/injury, war/corruption, death all through replacing each thought and act with the truth of infinite good and grace.
To the degree we obediently love and repent and heal, we feel that indomitable love, joy, peace, enduring patient confidence in God, gentle gracious kindness, goodness/integrity, dependable faithfulness, tender compassionate empathy, and God’s discipline in focused undistracted and temptation-resistent self-control humbly obeying the only Mind. And we bless the world. That is joy, heaven on earth now.
Oh, I love this message and sweet photo! As I gaze out the window this morning,
snow covers the ground with a freshness, beauty and pristine panorama of God’s
Being and all is so peaceful. I am so blessed to be here, surrounded by God’s
loving care that is with us all, always, no matter what winds may blow that may
tempt us to be afraid. And like Dottie has mentioned, God IS ever present. That
is such a lovely thought. Have a great day everyone.
As Paul tells us, “we have the mind of Christ.”
(I Corinthians 2:16)
“We have the mind of Christ.”
(I Corinthians 2:16)
Dottie, thank you for looking up and providing other passages on this subject!
Once when I called a Christian Science practitioner for help with a health challenge, she immediately assured me, “You do not have a mind that can know this! God is your mind.” It changed my perspective, and praying from this standpoint, a lovely healing was experienced. As Mrs. Eddy writes,
“All that really exists is the divine Mind and its idea, and in this Mind the entire being is found harmonious and eternal.” (S&H 151:23) As I’ve embraced this thought in my daily prayers, it helps me, as Evan has encouraged, to begin rightly and live rightly as I let infinite, divine Mind govern my thoughts and actions.
Thank you Evan. Right thoughts from God give us peace and calm.Let me share this experience.
I left my hand bag near an electric pole at a motor park. It is said that the people working in such places are mostly people who steal. Thirty minutes after I had left the place, turned to take my phone from my bag but it was no where to be found. I asked divine Mind to tell me where it was. Iimmediately it came to thought that I did not take it from the pole at the motor park. The next thing was that I prayed to understand that, all God’s children including the people at that park were made in the image and likeness of God. Being God’s reflection and can only act as divine Mind, God acts, the bag imust be safe.. Holding unto this right thought, my bag was safe. When I reached the place I found my handbag at the same place and it’s contents.
Right thinking led by Mind brings peace and joy at all moments.
Thanks to Evan for this reminder of how to keep thoughts right – trusting in only God, and letting nothing else come in to our thinking,
THANKS GRACE for sharing your experience. Grace you were keeping your thoughts right.! And there was no “down time ” No “fear time”. Your thoughts were from God, and with God, all the time! Both unconsciously and CONSCIOUSLY when you discovered that you had left your bag back at the motor park! And there it was, safe and ntact, as you knew it would be.
I had a similar experience.
Years ago I was at University,, and between classes I went to the public washroom. I left my wallet by the sink when I washed my hands, then thinking about my next class I went out . I got to my class early. Then a strong thought came to me to GO AND GET YOUR WALLET.!
IMMEDIATELY I knew where I had left it.. i I quickly left the classroom, and without fear, I prayed to know the Truth — Thinking right.thoughts! God is Mind. God knows where every idea is. I and everyone is God’s IDEA. No thief, No loss, No forgetful mortal mind. No other person can be tempted to steal. I prayed with right thoughts all the way back to the bathroom, and there was my wallet on the counter by the sink, right where I left it!. I thanked God and got back to mu class on time..
i kmow how GRATEFUL you are too Grace.! And grateful for seeing how complete is Gpd’s love and care for us all! All thanks to God!
To live right, think right, speak right, act right, and feel right is our life’s work. This entails a constant adjustment of the lens of material sense, affirmations and denials, discipline and restraint in our verbal reactions, expressing gentleness and love under all circumstances, and continually turning to God to feel aligned to His all embracing Love. As students of Christian Science we know that this daily, hourly work propels our spiritual progress, protects us from the throngs of error, and serves to elevate and heal world thought. What more joyous and rewarding work could there be?
Thank you, Evan, and all. There’s a wonderful lecture entitled To Begin Rightly by Dan Jensen. You can find it by googling Christian Science Historical Lectures. ❤️
One of my all-time favourite articles. So helpful. Linda X
Yes I’ve listened to that talk a couple of times, it is excellent.
Here is another talk he gave, at Arden Wood a CS retreat and nursing facility, called “Improving Our Models.”
https://www.ardenwood.org/daniel-jensen-improving-our-models/#
While listening to this talk many months ago I happily experienced a healing of a very painful, throbbing foot.
Sending love to all.
P.S- I am still smiling over yesterday’s precious SV and the outpouring of such an unusually large number of comments and responses, so great!
Thank you Rose for this reference! Loved hearing this again! Always with newer and clearer inspiration, and realization.

I have listened Dan Jensen’s talk several times.
Thanks all for your comments. And Jackie for recommending “To Begin Rightly” by Dan Jensen, and J for the link to “Begin rightly. reason rightly, to end rightly – healed” by Charlene Anne Miller.
The topic today is very important and good, thank you very much for it, dear Evan!
Often when I start with right thoughts from God eager to be aware of God`s guidance, during the day there try thoughts and feelings not from God to intrude my right thinking. Oh that bothers me and then it`s time to pray to gain peaceful thinking again, and then I can go on with my doings.
Am very grateful for the awakening thoughts, Evan is giving us with healing SpiritView ideas!!
Thanks a lot for good and inspired comments and the links to helpful articles!!
Thank you. All goid
