Live in the Light

Are you living in the light today?

In the biblical account of creation, the book of Genesis states, “And God said, Let there be light: and there was light” (Genesis 1:3).

God’s universe is filled with light.

Light enables us to see where to go and what to do.  Light is good.

The light of God is found in Mind.  It’s spiritual understanding, heavenly insight, illumination of Love, clear spiritual reasoning, enlightened thinking.

The light of God is not photons emanating from a material sun.  It’s spiritual reality found in divine Mind.

The light of God is not discerned through material sense.  It is found in spiritual sense.

We live in the light when we think about God, discern God’s reality, and reflect God’s presence.

Life is so much better when we live in the light, in the Light of God!  There is no darkness there.

Live in the Light today and prosper.

  1. Thank you, Evan – this is very uplifting – I love to
think of everything being lit with the light of truth and Love.
I had just been studying the Lesson, and at the end
we have the woman clothed with the sun,
and the moon under her feet. The query came to me, why was the moon put under her feet?
When thinking about it I suddenly twigged. The Bible tells us that God is light, and in Him is no darkness at all. So we must live in God’s everlasting day which is always full of light, consequently there is no darkness.
So no moon is necessary to help us find our way.
This light is above the sun and moon, and as Evan
explains, ” It’s spiritual understanding, heavenly insight, illumination of Love, clear spiritual reasoning, enlightened thinking.”
To really understand this free us from all the darkness of materiality and its false claims. So let us walk as children of light and find our freedom.

    1. Here is the hymn I mentioned above:
      “Walk in the light”

Walk in the light, so thou shalt know / That fellowship of love / His spirit only can bestow / Who reigns in light above.

Walk in the light, and thou shalt find / Thy heart made truly His, / Who dwells in cloudless light enshrined, / In whom no darkness is.

Walk in the light, and thou shalt own / Thy darkness past away, / Because that light on thee hath shone / In which is perfect day.

Walk in the light, and thou shalt see / Thy path, though thorny, bright; / For God by grace shall dwell with thee, / And God Himself is Light.
      (Christian Science Hymnal, No. 367:1–4)

  2. The sun is the source of light in our physical universe.. The moon is reflected light..Spiritually we are reflective light.. As I understand more about being a reflection burdens drop away.

  3. Yes, when we reflect the light of God’s presence in our own demonstration to others, we express the joy, grace and compassion of life.

    1. Thank you, J, for this enlightening article. Truly appreciate how you find the perfect companion articles to Evan’s spiritual ideas. SpiritView and its following always points us in God’s (Love’s) direction. Very grateful.

  4. I’ve also thought how women’s fertility cycles are seen to be ruled by the moon – & sometimes referred to as ‘the curse’ ie the curse on Eve. The woman clothed with the sun has overcome this belief of material birth and the curse on Eve. We belong to Genesis 1, not Genesis ll.

  5. Some thoughts on light that I’ve come across that I have found useful. [emphasis added]:

“Hope is being able to see that there is light despite all of the
    [seeming] darkness – Desmond Tutu

“No degree of [seeming] worldly darkness can extinguish the glow of a
soul’s inner light”. – Wes Fesler

“Nothing can dim the light that shines from within” – Maya Angelou

“When there’s [seeming] darkness around you – Shine your light even
    brighter”. – Jeanette Coron

“You may think your light is small, but it can make a huge difference in
other people’s lives”. – Author Unknown

  6. I read this just before I got on a ladder to find why a hanging light in my laundry room was not working. As I read this I realized there is never a problem with God’s light, the real light and so I was not dealing with any material problem at all. The light was easily “fixed” in a very short time.
Thank you Evan for always showing us the way!
