Living with joy

Would you like to feel more joy in your life?

I tell how you can experience more joy in this vlog that was filmed in the Flaming Gorge National Recreation area in Utah when my wife and I visited the area in August 2022.

  1. Joy is also a healing aspect, so as Gratitude!
And Joy is a wonderful spiritual quality which our Father-Mother God is imparting to us all! Sometimes there seem to be moments we are sad, but right there is God’s Love to comfort and heal us!

Thank you very much Evan, for your loving treats which I appreciate so much! This time it is JOY which nothing can take away from us, as it is from God!♡

    1. Thanks Uta for reminding us that even in trying moments, we don’t have to go on an arduous search for God because he is “right there to comfort and heal us.” I agree that Evan’s wonderful messages are “loving treats.”

Evan it was good to hear you link gratitude with Joy. Even thinking of one thing we are truly grateful for and really basking in that feeling connects us to our natural Joy and proves it’s always there.

      1. Thank you Rose!
Actually Evan is reminding us what is true with his wonderful spiritual Blog and the beautiful Vlogs! He makes us ponder the truths he is giving us more thoroughly!

        Am so grateful for SpiritView!♡

  2. This past Sunday the Annual Meeting
    for our ChristianScience Nursing Faculty,
    the speaker, Russell Knight,said,

Joy is active defiance of error
    Source of joy is God
    Direct spiritual awareness equals joy.

    1. Thank you, M. I love the statement that “joy is active defiance of error.”. What a wonderful
medicine to swallow. It seems really hard to be joyful when we have a physical problem
confronting us, but making the effort to be joyful breaks the dream. I am needing to do this today.
Singing joyful hymns is one way to achieve it, as I have discovered in the past.
“Father, we Thy loving children lift our hearts in joy today.” is one of my
favourites – it shows us that God is doing the casting out of the problems,
and is the source of joy.

So thank you, Evan, for this – it was such a joy to see the scenery as
well as hear your words of Truth.

    2. Thank you M for sharing this. I would like to hear the whole talk; would you tell us which facility this from, so we can contact them for the replay if it is available?
And thank you Evan for these words of wisdom, — that the light of joy is already within us as an element of our being God’s reflections.

  3. Thank you so much for this podcast. Joy is at the top of my bucket list
today. Good always bears repeating and Joy is part of that Good news.

  4. Thank you so much, Evan! I love these references from the Bible and the Christian Science textbook:

The LORD thy God in the midst of thee is mighty; he will save, he will rejoice over thee with joy; he will rest in his love, he will joy over thee with singing.
    (Zephaniah 3:17)

And the angel said unto them, Fear not: for, behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy, which shall be to all people. For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Saviour, which is Christ the Lord.
    (Luke 2:10, 11)

This is the doctrine of Christian Science: that divine Love cannot be deprived of its manifestation, or object; that joy cannot be turned into sorrow, for sorrow is not the master of joy; that good can never produce evil; that matter can never produce mind nor life result in death. The perfect man — governed by God, his perfect Principle — is sinless and eternal.

Harmony is produced by its Principle, is controlled by it and abides with it. Divine Principle is the Life of man. Man’s happiness is not, therefore, at the disposal of physical sense. Truth is not contaminated by error. Harmony in man is as beautiful as in music, and discord is unnatural, unreal.
(Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures, Mary Baker Eddy, p. 304:9–21)

  5. Two days ago I was standing in a queue in a coffee shop , having sent my husband to grab a table. As I left the cashier I spotted him getting up from his chair and going round the table to pull my chair out ready for me. I just thought ‘ isn’t that so kind and thoughtful !’
Yesterday late afternoon he came up to me , extremely worried , to show me what was an alarming large ball of inflammation which had suddenly appeared on his elbow. He isn’t a Christian Scientist and was really looking for some ( medical ) reassurance. This may seem a bit silly but because I was thinking of him as expressing the evidence of Gods care for me …( pulling out my chair ) there was not an instant I didn’t hold him in my consciousness as Gods perfect child , bringing joy and consideration into our experience. Therefore there could be no counter material evidence presenting itself , no-thing to cause him worry or stress. He was ( and is ) Gods perfect child.
Within 20 mins he was back to me showing me that the swelling was receding significantly and had disappeared completely by the time we sat down for our tea.
So that’s my joyful message today. God loves us every one and that Love manifests itself in many ways. Great vlog yet again Evan❣️

  6. I responded very late on the Nov 14 SV to the comment of Ellen T and I wanted to repeat it here with your indulgence in case she did not see the reply. She was questioning her understanding of the term “a spiritual being.” I replied:

“Dear Ellen, I am happy that you were moved to leave a comment for the first time and for your expressions of gratitude.

I agree that the term ‘spiritual being’ can seem unclear and hard to grasp materially. I think your definition is good. Sometimes it helps to approach it from the reverse. We know what a material being is — the (false) belief that there is a someone who is separate from God, with a separate mind, subject to all sorts of material and situational discords, ups and downs, good and evil, falling in and out of harmony, with no immunity to error’s dark offerings. We as spiritual beings are the diametric OPPOSITE of all of that which describes a material, mortal mind being. More to ponder. Lots of blessings to you!”

    Love to all today!

      1. Thank you dear J, I appreciate your kind words as well as all the wise thoughts and excellent articles you lovingly share with us.

    1. Dear Rose,

Thank you so much for your thoughtful and helpful reply to my question. I didn’t see it yesterday and am so grateful that you repeated it today, I thought that your repeating in today’s blog was a beautiful example of God love meeting my need.

      With much love and appreciation!

      1. Dear Ellen you are so very welcome. I’m grateful to read that you felt God’s love meeting your need through my post. A lovely blessing for both of us! All the best to you.

  7. Thank you, Evan, and all for these thoughts on Living With Joy. Made me think about one of my favorite hymns. (139)

The joy that none can take away
Is mine; I walk with Love today. ❤️

  8. Just last night I referred to a note that my Mom wrote to me when I was in college (1960) which states,
“Joy is an unalterable quality of man’s nature, and that therefore, anything which claims to take away one’s joy, must be false and utterly powerless.”
(Mom did not give the source – checked Concord – no
    References)

I am so grateful for Spiritview and the wonderful comments. With love to all❣️

    And thank you Evan and
    all SpiritViewer family, everyday.

  10. Dear Rose, Your explanation of what it means to be a spiritual being so effectively describes the antics of mortal mind,- and “stirs the human mind to a change of base”. When error is seen for what it isn’t, we naturally turn from it’s “dark offerings” to be receptive to the true spiritual sense of our harmonious God-like being. “The crude creations of mortal thought must finally give place to the glorious forms which we sometimes behold in the camera of divine Mind, when the mental picture is spiritual and eternal.” Science and Health pg. 264 Thank you for your ever responsive, loving comments.

  11. “Joy is not in things, it’s in us.”
Thanks everyone for your comments and sharing today.

  12. Wow! From Evan’s outstanding video from beautiful Utah to all the lovely, healing posts, today’s SpiritView is especially inspiring and so helpful. Thank you all!
