Look for the Blessing

“Sometimes not getting what you want is a brilliant stroke of luck.”

~ Lorii Myers

Not everything we want is best for us to receive. What we need spiritually is always a safe place to go with our wants and have us prepared to receive what matters most—the inspirational blessings that come straight from God. And they lead to human needs met.

  1. Thanks, Evan!
This is such an important reminder. I still remember what you said a few years ago: “We have to let go of what we think we need in order to find what we really want.”
That sentence stuck with me – and it has proven to be true in my experience 🙂

  2. “Give us this day our daily bread,” our Master Christ Jesus, prayed. “Give us grace for today”……Mary Baker Eddy writes. “What we most need is the prayer for growth in grace…..” she adds. What we MOST need! Those are strong words, aren’t they? When we pray for growth in grace, our legitimate wants are taken care of in a most beautiful and tangible way. Our wants are refined and purified when we turn them over to our Father who knows what we best need.

  3. You’ve heard “Be careful what you want…..you might get it.” Over many years I’ve been trying to learn to turn it all over to God. God’s knows best what I need, I’ve stopped asking God for anything because He knows all since He is Omnipotent Mind. I can realize and trust
that He has my back in all things. He is the only Power. God’s grace is my sufficiency in all things. It is so relaxing to know God” Is” and He is in complete control.

  4. It is a human trait to want this or that. I have a whole slew of large metal replicas of Cars that I thought I needed so that I wouldn’t be bored. Each cost a pretty penny that if I didn’t buy them, I would have saved quite a lot of money which I desperately need now for needed expenses. This is just one of many examples that we humans make when we don’t go to God first.

    1. Perhaps those now unwanted metal cars can be sold for a profit on eBay or in some way, giving you what you need currently. Your supply can meet the need of someone else and you will both be blessed.

  5. What a lovely thought. If we trust God with blessing us with what we need, we always get the best. At times, we do feel “Oh why does this always happen to me and why am I deprived of this or that….” But God alone can see into our past. present and future and after considering what is best even in the future, for us, he blesses us. So whenever I have trusted in God’s care and wisdom, and taken whatever assignments have come to me, in my office career, I have been blessed. It did appear unfair many a times, but when I trustingly took the assignment without questioning the wisdom of God (since God is the only Mind) I have been truly blessed, always. Thanks so much Evan.

  6. God is always guiding us. We can’t make a mistake, and never have. If we think we have, we must turn to God and see the present reality of His infinite blessings. The present reality is all there is!
