Here’s an inspiring video that teaches one to never size a person up by their physical condition. There is much more within to see and appreciate! You will be awed.

Enjoy.

  1. Thanks for sharing such an inspiring video, Evan.

I would encourage others to watch this!

It reminds me of a lady who is a quadriplegic and who is also an accomplished artist – her name is Joni Eareckson Tara. She has a ministry for the disabled, you can google her website, Joni and Friends.

  2. Incredible art, but the loving determination of the artist is most inspiring. The joy he shares and the beautiful outlook he has is evident in his face and in the love others express to him. Thank you for sharing this.

  3. thank you. very humbling when you think of the thoughts we have that seem to be getting in our way as real.

  4. God is limitless in bounty and beauty. Again the proof is demonstrated in ways we might not expect. Just a wonderful way to start the day.

  5. This is so very beautiful! It makes me think of a poster we had in our Reading Room when our children were small, showing a daffodil coming through the tar on a road, with the caption: “Nothing can thwart God’s purpose for you.” I always prayed with this thought for our children. And the video shows how true this is. We ar all ‘stuffed’ with talents which cannot be thwarted by ANYTHING. They always shine through whatever would hide them!
Thank you for this video, Evan!

  6. I really loved this! Thanks, Evan, for sharing! It also brings up a question for me, and perhaps other Christian Scientists: Do we see cerebral palsy, mental retardation, develpmental disability, etc. as opportunities for Healing or do we see beyond them to the Blessings they have brought to the person with the affliction and to those around them? I have always been drawn to working with children with Developmental Disabilities (Down’s Syndrome, Autism, Moderate to Severe Mental Retardation, etc.) and have learned so much from these children because they have the gift of Heart and Love, sometimes beyond what “normal” people have. Do we just accept these disabilities as “gifts from God” to teach us about loving people beyond the physical picture…..or do we see see these disabilities as opportunities for Healing in Christian Science?? Would love to hear your comments, Evan, and any one else’s, too! Thanks so much!

    1. Bev, you have some good questions about how to view people labeled as disabled. My prayer is to not see them as disabled, to unsee what mortal mind is claiming about them and to see them the way God sees them. Their true identity is in Spirit, where they are just as fully endowed as anyone else.

We should be seeing everyone this way, actually, no matter what their so-called physical condition appears to be. God’s man is spiritual. He’s not either physically perfect or imperfect. He’s spiritual.

      1. Evan, I feel encouraged by your response to Bev. I am still learning the basics of CS and I have wondered what CS’s views are towards those with developmental or life changing disabilities, or even those who may never receive the healing they are seeking – there must be several people asking a wide range of questions. Even though people may not always see a physical manifestation of their healing, God desires to bring healing that will bring wholeness, soundness, joy and peace to the (spiritual) individual.

  7. What wonderful proof that Life is spiritual!

I love the clear focused activity of the Christ that Paul expresses…and the Love of the Christ that surrounds him by those that attend him. I see Soul, Spirit, Principal, Mind, Life, Truth and plenty of Love poured forth by all. Can you imagine what an inspirition Paul is for the others around him that perhaps need hope restored! To me this is church in action and a good lesson for all. I feel enriched. Thank you Evan.

  8. What a lovely man! The people who live and work with him are such lucky people.

And yes, always see the perfect man–who is not physical at all, but is spiritual.

Thanks for sharing this with us, Evan!
