In Miscellaneous Writings p.370, Mrs. Eddy writes: “In different ages the divine idea assumes different forms, according to humanity’s needs. In this age it assumes, more intelligently than before, the form of healing.” That babe is encircling the globe, bringing health, hope, and joy to so many individuals.

I just reread “Christ and Christmas” from the back of the little book, with the scriptural texts from the following page as the inspiration for each of its 15 verses. The Victorian illustrations have always been off putting for me. Reading the poem without the illustrations has made the message clearer. Spirit IS the real and only and man is the manifestation of Spirit. That’s me! And everybody else, too. And Christian Science is the guiding star. Joy to the world!
