Your love must extend to your neighbor

February 3, 2015 | 5 comments

Do you love the children of other families in your neighborhood as much as you love your own?

Should you?

One of Mary Baker Eddy’s students recorded this message he heard Eddy share with a student:

“Mrs. Eddy told a student that if he desired his neighbor’s children to succeed and prosper at school and elsewhere, his own would also.” We Knew Mary Baker Eddy, Volume II, p. 284.

Divine Love includes everyone. The more we understand the all-inclusiveness of Love and practice its universality, the more we’ll see Love’s blessings appear in our own home.

  1. How very true. When we open our arms to love and embrace each and everyone, and not only our own, there are showers of blessings. He who dwells in love, dwells in God and God in him.
Oh Yes at times its difficult to love the unloving, but overlooking his/her drawbacks, if we still continue loving, sooner or later the person comes around. Since pure, selfless love has the power to win over even a hard-core criminal.
Thanks Evan for the daily inspirations. You love all of us, so you will be showered with blessings each and every day of your life. AMIN.

  2. This is the crux of Jesus’ teaching “love thy neighbor as thyself”. And Mrs. Eddy’s counsel
that loving your neighbor is a “divine idea”. (S & H 88:18) And our neighbor is anybody and everybody.

  3. For me, loving my neighbor becomes easier when you realize how to separate any error seemingly attached. CHRISTIAN SCIENCE shows us how to do that.

  4. This is so important! It makes our healing work so much more effective to know the truth is true for everyone, love is blessing everyone, mind is expressed in everyone….that’s how we broaden our tent! That’s how we see healing everywhere.
