Move beyond time

March 31, 2021 | 36 comments

Do you ever worry about your deeds of yesterday, how people remember you, and whether what you did in the past has any significance?

In this video, I explain that it’s what you accomplish spiritually that sticks and has a permanent effect.

Rather than focusing on the footprints of the past that time erodes away, focus on the footsteps of Truth you walk each day. The good you do today will have the final say.

This vlog was filmed in the Coral Pink Sand Dunes State Park in Utah, while hiking there in October of 2020.

  1. Evan I love this helpful idea of walking the footsteps of Truth rather than the footsteps of time. Coincidentally I have recently been reading the wonderful chapter ‘Footsteps of Truth’ in Science and Health, which contains the quote on page 224 which appears at the end of your vlog. Let’s all enjoy walking the footsteps of Truth today.

  2. What a wonderful message. Our reality is NOW in the omnipresence of our omnipotent God. Jesus demonstrated that to the world and the Truth he employed is today as is was then and will be tomorrow. I love the settings that you choose for your vlogs. Thank you for all your healing messages, Evan.

  3. Thank you for this as well as your many other healing
messages. Throughout the years so much inspiration and encouragement has been gained from SpiritView.

    1. Thank you, Evan! Thank you, Angie, for this powerful article. A must-read! Grateful to be able to share it!

    2. Thank you Evan! The present is a wonderful place to be!
      Thank you Angie for another wonderful article. I especially love;
“ Need we then be daunted at the apparent tenacity of error, since its seeming strength is only in proportion to our belief in it, and it will finally give way before the knowledge of the truth which is established for us now?”
The most wonderful thing is seeing a so-called condition as nothing more than a suggestion. Knowing you have choice. And acknowledging health as a God-given right and not dependent on matter. Steps we can take right now!

  4. Very Grateful! Beautiful ideas illustrated in such a beautiful location!
Makes me want to travel “with and to” both!
Thank you Evan and Kathy for sharing your ideas and adventures!

  5. It reminds me of the story of a two sets of
    footprints in the sand.
The story says, that one day there was just one set.
The person had been feeling down and said, God
you said you would always be with me, but there
is only one set of footprints. “I am, I am carrying
    you.”

The attached article mentioned the word, now.
I wrote a poem about always being in the now.,
but sometimes when working on something we
think of the now as a future, now.
“Behold now is the accepted time.”

    1. I was reminded of the Footprints story you mentioned also, M. Thank you and
Thank you, Evan and Kathy, for sharing your wonderful journeys with us. I am reminded of sand in an hour glass. As it seems to be running out, all that is needed to do is turn it over and in the Now, it goes on and on, as with eternity. Eternal peaceful wishes to all…

    2. It is a well known poem…
One night a man had a dream,
He dreamed he was walking along a beach with the Lord.
Across the sky flashed scenes of his life
For each scene he noticed two sets of footprints in the sand.
One set from him and one set from the Lord
When the last scene from his life flashed before him
He looked back at the footprints in the sand.
He noticed that many times along the pathway of his life
There was only one set of footprints.
He also noticed that it was at the lowest and saddest times of his life
This really bothered him and he questioned the Lord about it.
…’Lord you said that once I decided to follow You , You would walk with me all the way ,
But I have noticed that during the most troublesome times of my life, there is only one set of footprints. I don’t understand that when I needed you most you would leave me’….
The Lord replied….’my precious, precious child, I would NEVER LEAVE YOU , during your times of trial and suffering ..when you see only one set of footprints…it was then that I CARRIED YOU ! ‘…
      Quite beautiful..

  6. Marvelous! Evan, the thoughtful explorations of ideas which come as you and Karhy hike all the lovely parks around this country, remind me that we are truly exploring Infinity, and the lively discussions which emanate confirm this! Love to all, and thank you, Angie, for your almost daily supplemental, inspiring articles. Indeed, today’s article is “dated” ftom 1926, yet the concept written is quite literally timeless!!!

  7. Thanks for the photo above and the video of sand dunes, love the nature shots, really brings out the timeless quality of Life.

2 Corinthians 6:2 “…now is the accepted time; behold, now is the day of salvation.”

Past and future don’t actually exist, they are just constructs of mortal mind. This seems hard to grasp when most people spend most of their “time” lost in what was or what might be, but I feel God is leading us away from that quality of thinking as we stick with Him. I heard this somewhere– Start with God, Stay with God, Stand with God, Stick with God. Blessings to all of you!

    1. Thanks Rose for this concept: “Start with God, Stay with God, Stand with God, Stick with God”! Really a great concept….thanks for sharing!

        1. I love this “Start, Stay, Stick, and Stand with God. Brief and sweet. The longer and timely article is a good background to this statement Thanks Rose and LP. Thanks Evan for another great Vlog.

  8. Thank you Evan and all commenters. I used to have a minister who would say someone was so spiritually minded they were no earthly good. 🙂 Staying in the present moment and yet living life with our inevitable appointments and needs has always been a challenge for me. Still working on it. I have found the following lecture by Dr. Lawrence Doyle at Arden Wood to be so helpful. It is titled “The Science of Christian Science” and he gets into the concept of time. Enjoy!

Well, I don’t know why it’s not hot, but you can copy and paste into the address bar and it will work.

  9. Thank you Evan, and thank you Brian for linking the chapter Footsteps of Truth, which explains in such depth the true origin and substance of our being. In it, Mary Baker Eddy says “As the crude footprints of the past disappear from the dissolving paths of the present, we shall better understand the Science which governs these changes, and shall plant our feet on firmer ground.” This firmer ground is the scientific understanding that man is not material, he is spiritual. Any seeming discordant impressions derived from the belief that we are limited matter bodies, will fade out as a dream, as we get clearer glimpses of our true perfect spiritual Source. Divine Science is truly the Comforter, for which my gratitude can find no words.

  10. Every time I think of “time” I’m reminded of this: “TI-ME” …..it can tie us down when thinking of it humanly….just think and be spiritual and all human reasoning will fade away!

  11. This Spirit View is magnificent in so many ways.
Thank you for the generosity in your sharing Evan.
I, for one of many, continue to reap the rewards in a long journey I have been on….

  12. Much of my inspiration comes in the form of acronyms and today’s blog has prompted me to share the one for the word,” now”. N ever O ther W ise
Thank you, Evan, and all the commenters for your contributions on this very timely topic!!!

  13. Thank you so much for this beautiful message Evan! It reminds me of the parable in the Bible with the farmer putting his hand to the plow and not looking back. Thank you for sharing 🙂
