Move from I Can’t to I Can

Mary Baker Eddy wrote to a student:

“Just where mortal mind says, ‘I can’t,’ you must know, ‘I can’—for ‘I can’ is the Son of ‘I am.’”

~ We Knew Mary Baker Eddy, Volume II, p. 285.

  1. This is so helpful for the Christian Scientist. I am proving it often.
Where I seem to be there is God, and where God is all that needs to be done can be done,
    for God is “all-knowing, all-seeing, all-acting, all-wise, all-loving” as we’re told in Science and Health (page 587)

  2. In Utah, there is an animal rescue organization for dogs and cats, called Best Friends. I love their motto which is “Together, we CAN save them all”.

To me this exemplifies “With God all (good) things are possible” from the Bible.

This motto is in stark contrast to too many animal shelters that make excuses for not even trying to save them all, putting down too many animals too quickly.

With their positive attitude, Best Friends has been able to come up with innovative ideas for saving the lives of more dogs and cats, good ideas that are spreading elsewhere.

This illustrates what an attitude of “CAN” can do.

In spiritual reality, supply and demand are always in balance, and I’m grateful that Best Friends and others are striving to prove this in the animal-rescue arena.
