Are you ever tempted to feel weary and run down from what you’re doing? If so, maybe it’s time to rethink what you’re doing.
If you see yourself as a mortal with limited resources, you might be tempted that you’re getting worn down and worn out from what you do.
But if you see yourself correctly, as an immortal reflecting the infinite energies and joys of God, you’ll likely feel light and buoyant.
A material view of self can feel heavy and burdened.
A spiritual understanding of self as God’s goodness in action, leads to lightness, joy, and health.
Mary Baker Eddy writes, “Mind-science teaches that mortals need “not be weary in well doing.” It dissipates fatigue in doing good” (Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures, p. 79). This is inspiring to read, because it means that when we are “doing good,” we are empowered and strengthened. Fatigue vanishes.
Enjoy “doing good” today! You’ll feel much better.
Omgoodness, this is exactly what i need today. Thank you, dear Evan ❣️
I just love the statement that through “a spiritual understanding of self” we are “God’s goodness in action”. Thank you so much, Evan.
This is very helpful. Thank you, Evan. To think that we are ‘immortals reflecting the infinite energies and joys of God”. How wonderful is that!
This poem (in part) came to me this morning:
It matters not what be thy lot
So Love doth guide
For storm or shine, pure peace is thine,
What e’er betide
And of these stones, or tyrants’ thrones,
God able is
To raise up seed–in thought and deed–
To faithful His
MBE, hymn 160
Thank you again, Evan.
Just what I needed today, as I have a lot of “mortal” things to
accomplish today. Thank you, Evan. This spiritual way of thinking
helps to make the day lighter and brighter.

Great article! Thanks J.
An absolute healing, comforting and freeing article. I would say, it’s a keeper. Thank you very much, dear J .♡ It’s just very needed, and I think, not only for me.
Every day we do need spiritual energy; however we can be sure to receive it from our Father-Mother God, as we stick to our inseparability from divine Love!
Thank you very much, dear Evan for this wonderful SpiritView today! ♡
Thank you, Evan, for Spirit View. Reminding us of Spirit’s view of creation.
Yesterday’s Mother Church meeting included the hymn 88. The phrase that caught my attention was “Would Thy life in mine reveal” v. 1. 2nd verse “Let Thy life in mine appear”
A continuous practice
This is just what I needed to hear. Thanks for the sharing. So so helpful
Wow, Evan!! Right on target! I have been feeling like a mortal with limited resources of all kinds. Your post sure did wake me up from that! Thank you!
Thy will
Be done
I love this and was exactly why I gave up “to do” lists – although occasionally even with out them I can feel tired and want to go to bed for about 3 years, and then I’ll suddenly recognize that I’ve let Dinah be in control again, so, turn to do something joyous, or read some light CS and the next minute I couldn’t sleep if I wanted to! It makes such a difference, I appreciate this explanation putting it in the CS language
A lot of people suffer from doing good because they think of the good as not done yet and they have to do it with limited resources. In Bicknell Young’s article “Day”, he says, “do not start with the belief that you have certain things to do. If you do, you are mesmerized already.” He says that we have one thing to do, and that is to know the Truth…..that Day is God unfolding His good. Our job is to make sure we are following His direction. (Ask him!)
More than once I have been in despair of how to get something done. In remembering our legitimate tasks are not material but spiritual good brought to light, I thought, I don’t know how this good will be appear, but it is unfolding and I will just wait on God each instant and obey His already perfect Truth speaking to me. Things that seemed impossible were accomplished without harm when I practiced patience and persistence in letting God tell me what, when and how to do things.
Yay !
Bicknell has simply simplified so much for me.
Thank you for your helpful comments
