Not guilty

Are you wrestling with guilt?  Feeling condemned, hopeless, worthless?  If so, it’s time to turn the tables on that guilt and point the accusing finger in the proper direction.  Toward mortal mind!

Mortal mind is the guilty one, not you, the innocent child of God.

It’s mortal mind that indulges evil beliefs, holds resentments, fears disease and perpetuates pain and suffering.

A child of God does not think this stuff up, ask for it, or even warrant it.

A child of God reflects the Mind of God, which is filled with love, calm, peace, forgiveness, trust in the good and the harmony of heaven.

If a false sense of guilt is beleaguering you, it’s time to separate yourself from mortal mind, to see that you are not mortal mind, but a reflection of divine Mind that is free of sin and disease.

There is no requirement that you indulge evil beliefs, act out mortal mind’s antics, or cling to sin.  That’s not you!!  God never made you that way.

God made you to be a good person, sinless, pure, moral, spiritual, free of suffering, reflecting the Mind of Christ which is always in a good place.

Mary Baker Eddy writes, “Innocence and Truth overcome guilt and error” (Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures, p. 568).

Know your primitive innocence as a spiritual child of God.  Accept it.  Live true to it.  Be it!

In God’s eyes, you are not guilty.  You are everything God created you to be, and it’s wholly good.

It’s mortal mind that is banished.  Not you, the beloved of divine Love.

  1. Romans 8:1
1There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit.
What a relief to know this.
Thank you so much for the consistent inspiration Evan!

  3. Speaking with a friend yesterday, he used the term, “false advertising”, when we were talking about the false evidence of the senses.

  4. A lovely message today – Thank you Evan and all. What a sweet photo
above of smiling, innocent children, like we all are as children of God.
Their purity and gentleness, love and harmony shine through and are
perfect examples of what we should aspire to. In S&H pg.323, Mrs. Eddy
writes, “Willingness to become as a little child and to leave the old for the
new, renders thought receptive of the advanced idea … The purification
of sense and self is a proof of progress. ‘Blessed are they pure in heart:
for they shall see God'” …
It is “mortal” mind that tries to lead us in other directions – seeing ourselves
as other than spiritually harmonious. Seeing ourselves as mere mortals with
limited human frailties and temptations that we later might feel guilty from.
But as children of God, we do not have to see ourselves in this way… and
can see ourselves as the beloved of divine Love.

  5. Thanks Evan sir and everyone for their inspirations as well . Very helpful to overcome mortal mind temptations.
