One way to find God’s presence

November 22, 2017 | 21 comments

If you’re ever feeling separated from God and wondering how to find God’s presence, one way to quickly find your divine connection again is through gratitude. Give thanks!
Gratitude brings you instantly into God’s presence.

“Let us come into his presence with thanksgiving; let us make a joyful noise to him with songs of praise!
~ Psalm 95:2, RSV

  1. Thanksgiving is every day! Give glory and praise to our dear Father-Mother God always. Thank you, Evan for all these quotes and thoughts. May you all have a joyous Thanksgiving.

  2. Good day Evan and group. Many times you feel that you are out of step with God. In those moments I begin to pray (that is, with the dial to look for the frequency and to get in tune with God.) I have tried to recognize what God is and everything as his perfect idea, now I am going to put into practice your suggestion, to do it only from gratitude. So beautiful!!! Thanks and excellent day. Not these alone for a second !!!!

  3. Thank you Evan and Happy Thanksgiving to you, your family and everyone!

I’d like to share a wonderful article that appears on JSH

This ties in so well with your post this morning, Evan. Thanks be to God for this
    inspiration!

  4. When I was going through a serious health challenge, I found my best prayers were those that started and ended with gratitude. Gratitude fuels and supercharges prayer.

Evan, I rarely write, but thank you so much for sharing your inspiring ideas. Happy Thanksgiving to you and your family, and to all SpiritView readers. I am very grateful for SpiritView this Thanksgiving!

  5. Dear Evan, your blog is certainly one of the things I’m most grateful for this year. Thanksgiving blessings and much love to you and your loved ones, Jan

  6. I said it yesterday and I will say it again, our cups truly are running over all the time. I’m so grateful for these reminders the last couple of days to be grateful now and always for all of God, Goods, great gifts. I so loved yesterday’s video on the dad who woke up being grateful for everything. I thought of it many times throughout the day yesterday. It made me both laugh and reminded me to be grateful for the things that I sometimes take for granted in my daily life. Jeff, I love the idea of prayer being “fueled” and “supercharged.” Thank you for sharing. Thank you God, thank you Evan, and thank you SV family. I know that we will all have a wonderful Thanksgiving steeped in gratitude for God’s great Love for us.

  7. A bitter pill
    as a seed
    of Truth,

    A bitter cup
    Holds the
    waters
    of Love,

    Truth blooms
    by these waters
    so clear,

    The illusion
    that never was
    soon disappears

    1. Yes, I too love your poem like Gustavo mentioned, Maximo, very inspired and insightful, thank you very much. It is perfect! 🙂

  8. Thank you Evan and everyone. I am so grateful for the this message and all of you. Blessings to all and a very happy Thanksgiving.

  9. Gratitude came to me many years ago quite unexpectedly. I have a very dear friend from the time we were preschoolers in Christian Science Sunday school, attended the same high school graduating in 1950, and throughout the many years since. I have corresponded frequently though never receiving a reply – I was a letter writer and she wasn’t. When I visited her in the 1980’s, she pulled out a shoe box filled with all of the letters I had written. She said whenever there was a gap she knew something was wrong, and then when I wrote again she knew all was well. Until then, I had no idea how much my letters had meant. Love is never poured forth vainly and this inspires me to continue to love whether or not it is reciprocated. The love that is expressed is the greatest blessing I can ever have. Wishing you all a Thanksgiving day of blessings!

      1. I do, too, Evan and Lori. We never know what a beacon of light our thoughts may be to others sometimes. I have some letters and cards that I have gotten through the years from dear friends and cherish them as some of my most treasured belongings. Thoughts, are, indeed, gifts. May you, Evan, Kathy and your family and all here at SV and beyond, have a Thanksgiving filled with blessings

  11. Happy Thanksgiving to one and all! Thank you very much Evan for your daily sharing of your inspirations. I always learn from them end though I don’t write so often I make it a point to put to practice your reminders as a sign of gratitude. Thank you ALL SpiritView fans for you sharing too!.

  12. Hi Don,
thank you so much for the link to Evan`s utmost precious list of endless thanksgiving.
And yes, thank you very much indeed Evan, for that wonderful list made in 1910. At that time I did not yet know about your wonderful SpiritView.

I had a very inspiring testimony meeting tonight. But there was something that bothered me after service about another member, and I did not cling to God`s presence at that moment. But your today`s SpiritView and that of yesterday and that one of June 2010 is helping me and calming me down – I am grateful for that and all the good our Father-Mother God gives us at every moment.

Here in Germany we, the CS churches, do not celebrate Thanksgiving so very much as in the USA. But the branchchurch in Hamburg, I am member of, celebrates the thanksgiving services on the same day as America (I supposte, you all commenters, or most of you and The Motherchurch) does, i.e. on the fourth thursday in November. I like that because then I feel in communion with you all and with The Motherchurch.

I am very grateful for your love, Evan, pouring us every day so much helpful and healing inspiration into our heart. Very happy Thanksgivingday for you and Kathy and your dear family.

thank you all SpiritView friends for your comments. Love and a happy Thanksgivingday for you a l l !

  13. Max, I liked your poem, deep and to think. In the middle of the apparent error the Truth arises and neutralizes with its solar light. Well Max, once again I tell you, I am an admirer of your poetry.

  14. Thanks Evan for this lovely reminder. Indeed Gratitude to God opens up the way for healing and many blessings. God whose name is LOVE, only has the best things for us in store. Even the seemingly bad situations in our life, take us to a higher understanding, at a higher spiritual level and ultimately a better and happier experience.
We can be happy and grateful all the time, only if we have full confidence in God’s goodness. What have we to fear when God walks with us every step of the way. The only prayer we can chant all the time is THANK YOU GOD FOR YOUR INFINITE CARE, YOUR TRUE LOVE AND STRONG SUPPORT IN OUR LIFE.
Wish you, your family and all our dear friends A HAPPY THANKSGIVING DAY.
