Open up and shine

December 8, 2015 | 14 comments

You are meant to shine and let the world see your spirituality! Did you know that?

“Let your light shine,” Jesus Christ tutored his followers.

Expressing love openly and outwardly seems to come easy for some, and not so easy for others. When held in, it doesn’t mean that love isn’t in there to come out. It’s just that self-consciousness, fear, apprehension or not feeling an imperative to let love be felt and known outwardly, would hold it out of view.

But it’s healthy to share your spirituality and spread God’s love all around. It not only benefits every receiver, it makes you feel good too. It’s always a win-win situation.

Holding it in versus letting it be expressed is the difference between a rosebud tightly closed and a rose in full bloom.

A tightly closed rosebud possesses within itself incredible beauty, form, shape, outline and color. But until it opens it petals wide and reveals its grander view, its beauty is not apparent to others around.

So, don’t be a tight rosebud. Open those petals of thought wide and let God’s beautiful creation in you be seen by all. Let your light shine.

  1. Thanks Evan! Loved the video of Josh Gorban that you posted yesterday. Its my new favourite for this season. 😀
    Much Love and Joy

  2. And fragrance, perhaps the loveliest rose quality, isn’t released until the bid opens!
    Beautiful message. Thank you.

  3. “This little Light of mine, I’m going to let it Shine…..Let it Shine, Let it Shine, Let it Shine!!”

  4. What beauty in that wonderful graphic, Evan! and what a great message.
We mustn’t hide our candle under the bushel and like roses need sunshine, we
too, should let our light shine.

  5. Wonderful thought, Evan. Thank you. The other day I came across a similar idea sharing it with my Facebook friends.”While starring into the darkness, mind pierces the black void with a ray of spiritual light exposing a rosebud, blossom & fragrant.”

  6. Stand up to what you feel is right, for you and every one else and you shall win for right is from God and might is from mortal mind which is never right.

  7. We Evergreen Singers gave our Xmas concert this morning at our Senior Center. We may not have the greatest voices but we sing with all our hearts and soul. Our audiences seem to get it. I feel everyone feels the Love !
