Outline the path you want to take

When sick, do you outline the illness right out of your life, or do you let it outline a path in your mind to further suffering?
We are never helpless in the face of illness. Truth is a power we can lean on to eliminate illness from our mind and body and live free. But it’s important to mentally side with Truth and not with the suffering if we desire wellness.
When the human mind anticipates increased symptoms and prolonged illness it outlines a path to further suffering. This is not cool! It’s not the route to quick recovery. It needs to be reversed and replaced with absolute confidence of health and healing.
Mary Baker Eddy wisely wrote,

“Agree to disagree” with approaching symptoms of chronic or acute disease, whether it is cancer, consumption, or smallpox….Instead of blind and calm submission to the incipient or advanced stages of disease, rise in rebellion against them.” Science and Health, p. 390.

Multiple times in my life, I have prayerfully resisted suffering and seen it decline and go away. Also, there have been times when I was mentally asleep and did not reverse the suggestion of suffering, and I suffered even more. Not a good plan! So, we learn through experience….
We have mental choices to make when thinking. When the human mind wants to outline suffering, we need to disagree with its “plan,” put it into reverse, and kick it out like kicking a robber out of our home. God sends us truth to embrace, love, understand and demonstrate. Embrace God’s truth and let it lead you to full recovery.
If there is any “outline” to sickness to entertain, let it be on a trajectory of leaving your experience pronto and with finality.
The only path for suffering to walk is right out of your life into nothingness.

  1. Evan, the truth you speak is enough. No images needed; in fact, the one you have here is very distracting so that I found my thought totally left what I was reading and I needed to go back and read again the tail end of your offering.

  2. This is exactly what we as C/S have to do at all times and at all situations if we want an harmonious life style. Some of us get it right away and some have to build up to it. The one’s finding it hardest to do just have to pay more attention to our thought patterns. But it’s possible so don’t get discouraged. It works. It’s worth it, effort and all.
