What pictures are you taking today?

May 1, 2015 | 12 comments

Look for the good in your neighborhood! That’s a theme of this short video.

A giving college student named Bailey finds a way to brighten up the lives of children by encouraging them to look for something special in their neighborhood to capture on film.

After watching this clip, I decided I could do the same with my “mental camera,” during the day. I could look for the best views to capture in thought, for they are many, and understand why I should be grateful for them. The blessings around us bring much joy when noticed.

Enjoy.

  1. Beautiful – and I’ve already captured some glorious moments on my mental camera when walking to the post box this morning. Can’t wait to see what develops!!
    Thank you, Evan.

  2. Thank you!!
After turning on the computer this morning and seeing headlines that can’t help but make one feel sad, this was a beautiful breath of the freshest air!! A glorious moment for my mental camera.
Makes one want to made a difference one moment at a time.
    Again, thank you!!

  3. Sweet !

Jesus loved children for their natural expression of God, their joy and purity. It feels good to share in this with the Master Christian! And how vital to the thought-world that we seem to live in to preserve these childlike qualities in ourselves.

Thanks for posting this video, Evan!

    ;-)))

    .

  4. Wonderful and inspiring! It was heartwarming to see such sharing and togetherness in bringing joy to this neighborhood… and the love, so genuine and caring.
Thank you so much, Evan, for sharing with us all of the the happy experiences that they captured. What a glorious way to start the day!

  5. I agree with Sue K. Today in Edinburgh (in the UK), more than 200 people paid their respects to a baby boy who had been found dead alongside a railway track. No relatives have ever come forward and therefore his identity is unkown. He would’ve been two years old now had he lived.

So I have been capturing mental pictures too, especially of children. While walking in town I looked at a baby sleeping in its pram and I captured the innocence and beauty of a baby, and the look of a mother’s love too.

Evan, thank you for sharing such a wonderful thought today…

  6. OK; that one made me cry….but good tears. Thanks so much for posting this, Evan. What amazing results loving can bring!
