Put on your white garments

September 8, 2025 | 31 comments

Let your garments be always white.

~ Ecclesiastes 9:8, RSV

Are you wearing your white garments today?

This dictum is not a reference to fabric you wear on the body.  It’s about your thoughts.  What thoughts are you “wearing?”

Are they “white” thoughts?  Are they pure spiritual thoughts?

The white garments of Christ are spiritual mindedness, love, compassion, instant forgiveness, care, thoughtfulness, wisdom, and trust in God.

White garments are states of Mind, of the divine Mind, manifest through us.

There is no dirt of mortal mind on these white garments to soil their appearance.  The dirt of resentment, selfishness, complaint, ill-will, anger, and evil are nowhere to be found.

The white garments of Christ are pure and clean.  Unstained.  Holy.

When you get ready for your day, be sure to dress in the finest clothes.  Put on your white garments!

Put on the Mind of Christ and radiate heavenly qualities everywhere you go and in everything you do.

  1. Thank you, Evan. Mrs. Eddy’s statement to “Stand porter at the door of thought” is a moment by moment reminder for guarding our thoughts from the intrusive aggressive suggestions of mortal mind.

      1. Yes well said Mary. If we let God, divine Mind lead us and be our only Mind, He keeps our thoughts in their right channels, seeing Life as pure, pristine and holy. That is bliss. Thanks SpiritViewers for an array of contributions from your dear hearts, I appreciate you all.

    1. Thank you very much, J; it’s truely a.brilliant and very helpful article. Just this passage in the article is so comforting: “How freeing to understand and prove that God supplies us with only the highest and purest thoughts. It empowers us to live more hsrmonious lives and help others.” So wonderful!

Thank you very much, Evan for this important metaphysical reminder that we are God’s precious expression always reflecting God’s healing and loving thoughts and qualities of Christlike infinite goodness!

  2. My Top 10 Citations from this week’s Bible Lesson on Matter (Part 1)
    1. Matthew 7:18 … A good tree cannot bring forth evil fruit, neither can a corrupt tree bring forth good fruit.
    2. S&H 264:28 … When we learn the way in Christian Science and recognize man’s spiritual being, we shall behold and understand God’s creation, all the glories of earth and heaven and man.
    3. Matthew 6:24 … No man can serve two masters: for either he he will hate the one, and love the other; or else he will hold to the one, and despite the other. Ye cannot serve God and mammon.
    4. Luke 6:43, 45 … a good tree bringeth not forth corrupt fruit; neither doth a corrupt tree bring forth good fruit. A good man out of the good treasure of his heart bringeth forth that which is good.
    5. S&H 544: 10-11 … Matter cannot change the eternal fact that man exists because God exists. Nothing is new to the infinite Mind.

  3. Thank you. Beloved Christian Scientists, keep your minds so filled with Truth and Love, that sin, disease, and death cannot enter them. It is plain that nothing can be added to a mind already full. My. p. 210:1-5.

  4. Hello David. Welcome to SpiritView. Concerning practitioners I can only speak from experience. One Sunday morning my dear mother passed on in church. She was cold and not breathing. As I went outside to phone for the paramedics, our practitioner who was sitting in the row behind, came to sit next to my mother and was speaking quietly to her. After about 10 minutes a church member came out and said to me “She is breathing and has come back.” She was well and even stood up to sing the final hymn. She had no recollection of it whatsoever. I know it was the practitioner’s prayers which reached her and healed her. The dear practitioner made no charge for this whatsoever. I have had practitioners over the years and can only testify that they have all been very loving and healing has been uppermost in their thoughts, not monetary gain. I trust your dear friend receives the healing she deserves. With love.

    1. Says it all…thankyou for sharing Anon.
We are so blessed and pray for more awareness of the proof of Gods care for us all.Bx

      1. I would like to support all the loving responses above in support of the healing
power of Christian Science and the loving
        dedicated work of Practitioners.
It is not the practitioners that do the healing – their job is turn the patients to God and to His Christ. It is the Christ that brings about what is termed “healing.”,. But it is really the revealing of what is already true –
that God made us all whole and complete
as His spiritual image and likeness.,, and
that material senses are all false and
powerless to oppose God’s will for us. It is
not the healing of sickness, in fact, because God never makes man sick in the first place., because He loves us deeply with
        an everlasting love.
He is Emanuel, God with us, and we are one with Him as His reflection. The patient just needs to trust in a God who is infallible and ever-present ,ready to help us when we turn to Him with our whole heart..

I have had Practitioners; bills which give an
amount, and also says, pay what you feel
        you can manage.
So I know this friend can respond to Gpod’s
love for her, and we can all know that..

        1. Thank you Maggie for your heartfelt reply to the earlier commenter regarding CS practitioners. I love your statement, “God never makes man sick in the first place because He loves us deeply with an everlasting Love.”

One only need look to the abundance of testimonies in the the CS periodicals, testimonies given at Wed services, Sentinel Watch episodes, Daily Lifts, CS lectures widely available on YouTube, here on SV and hopefully our own experience as we studying and apply CS in our daily lives, to see that powerful healing is ongoing today, and the power of God, Love is the same yesterday today and forever.

    1. Thank you, Maggie. This is supportive. I’m grateful you’ve brought it to our attention. As stated at the forefront of the article, it “aims to correct some misconception about Christian Science that would keep us from having the results we so desire as spiritual healers.”

  5. Thanks everyone for comments that stick to the purpose of this site, which is to share inspired ideas with one another that help and heal!

  6. I am also very very grateful for your daily spiritual views , dear Evan, which are so helpful for our daily demonstration along with the precious comments and articles here!
Thank you dearly to all ! 🙂

    1. What a wonderful article Cheryl – it addresses
just about every angle of animal magnetism’s
subtle suggestions trying to influence us. Thank
you for sharing this, it is very useful.

  7. I love this. My thoughts tend to be more varied in color, but if I always endeavor for purity, God’s goodness will make my rainbow of thought pure
