Quote of the day

April 4, 2011 | 2 comments

The less attention you pay to the body,
the less attention it demands from you.
~ Evan
Not talking about ignoring basic fundamentals of cleanliness and nutrition here, but addressing the other side of paying too much attention through excessive hygiene, constant manipulation, massaging, and thought-taking that if over-indulged, turn the body into a seeming mind that talks back to us and starts making demands. Have you ever been there before?
The spirit of “Take no thought…” as Jesus taught.

  1. less attn verses least attn or no attn.
I think in terms of wants and needs and indeed I dont want to be simply “blissed” out like an mystic in India who meditates on love and lives on nothing else.

Seems that ‘stewardship of the body is sensible and porter to the mind.

to think that we can become so conscious of the Mind of Christ that we lose total awareness of the mortal world is not achievable.

I want to move away from obsessions of the body but still eat my broccoli

    Just a thought

  2. I like that proverb by Evan!

It reminds me of this truth: “That body is most harmonious in which the discharge of the natural functions is least noticeable” (Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures, p. 478).

Last night I was reading something that made me realize anew that man is Soul’s body — the embodiment of harmony, health, goodness, loveliness, order, peace, serenity.

Now that’s a body worth paying attention to 24/7! It’s definitely an achievable accomplishment, though maybe not overnight. After all, it’s already the fact of existence! 🙂
