Rely on more than social distancing to stay healthy

If you want to stay healthy during this pandemic, be sure to rely upon more than social distancing to keep yourself safe and strong. Keep your thinking in a healthy place!

It’s fear and false beliefs passed along in the public consciousness that spread disease. These fears may be propagated either consciously or unconsciously, but whichever, they need to be guarded against to keep one’s health intact. Social distancing is not sufficient protection.

To stay strong, be sure to practice mental distancing from the false beliefs!

Mary Baker Eddy gave wise counsel on how to protect oneself from contagious disease when she wrote, “Stand porter at the door of thought. … When the condition is present which you say induces disease, whether it be air, exercise, heredity, contagion, or accident, then perform your office as porter and shut out these unhealthy thoughts and fears. Exclude from mortal mind the offending errors; then the body cannot suffer from them”
(Science and Health, p. 392).

Spiritual truth understood is a sure defense against contagious disease.

When you circulate in your neighborhood, be sure to see yourself moving around in the omnipresence of Love where God’s peace greets you at every corner. Keep your thinking in the realm of reality where Mind is all, and all is Mind, reflecting the beneficial and supportive presence of God and always working together for the safety and protection of one and all.

Stay clear that God never created a harmful virus, that the coronavirus is rendered harmless in the omnipresence of Love, and that you are only exposed to God’s love and care in every place you go, with every person you meet and in everything you touch.

Stand porter at the door of thought and admit only the possibility of health.

Stand porter at the door of thought and know there is no distance between you and God, the source and sustainer of your health.

Know God’s presence and stay healthy.

  1. This is a wonderful message for us all as we go about our day. I am soon leaving to go to my local park for my daily walk. There is a lake there with swans, geese and lots of baby ducks at the moment. I like to sit on a bench by the lake and read SpiritView. Today’s message is perfect and I shall include everyone I see in it’s healing message. Thank you Evan.

  2. This statement from Pulpit and Press comes to mind relating to what you have said: “Know, then, that you possess sovereign power to think and act rightly, and that nothing can dispossess you of this heritage and trespass on Love. If you maintain this position, who or what can cause you to sin or suffer?” Thank you so much, Evan, for this wonderful inspiration of what is true in the face of the mesmeric beliefs of an aggressive material virus.

    1. Thank you, Evan & all commentators for the “close” thoughts. “Stand porter at the door of thought.” So helpful & true.

  3. Thank you Evan for the ideas you’ve shared today especially where you say that “Social distancing is not sufficient protection” and “To stay strong, be sure to practice mental distancing from the false beliefs!” That’s very interesting – Thank you very much Evan!

  4. A timely reminder that there is plenty of room for good and healing thoughts. Thanks Evan.

  5. Read this 3 times today already Evan. It’s just brimming with spiritual guidance. The Daily Lift today is also reminding us to ‘stand porter’. There is so much for us to enjoy as we encompass true reality. Thank you Evan for spreading such positivity and Love.

  6. Thank you Evan, so so helpful and such a good reminder to keeping thought free from mental Contagion. That is all that is a mental lie.

  7. Evan, as you said “- there is no distance between you and God”. Then God’s atmosphere of good is the atmosphere I live in.. it is safe, secure and healing.
Where ever I go good goes with me to bless and to heal.

    1. Terrific! Thank you Evan, as always, and John, and everyone. We can, indeed, be the CLOSE (immediate) blessing we carry with us!

  8. Evan, thank you! This is so good. As you said, “To stay strong, be sure to practice mental distancing from the false beliefs”. This line just jumped off the page for me! So wonderful to include “mental distancing” in our everyday moments as we go along our day. Not just during a pandemic, of course, but everyday to think of this concept – “mental distancing”. . .keeping mentally aware that we are forever distant from any false belief that attempts to enter consciousness all while knowing there is absolutely no distance between us and the ever-present allness of God. Acknowledging this fact, that we are completely surrounded by Love and knowing that our day is complete with this strong presence of God guiding us at every moment, keeps us entirely safe and free from any false suggestions of fear or disease.

  9. I love the graphic of the doors. They are closed to all plagues and open to Truth and Love. Thank you.

  10. Thanks, Evan! And this also reminds me to not get into the conversation. That is, unless we can follow MBE’s directive: “Never breathe an immoral atmosphere, unless in the attempt to purify it.” (S&H 452:14–15) God bless us all.

  11. Focusing on the truth is always needed. I need that reminder and clarification daily. thank you. I am doing what is required with masks and sanitation but as I walk through my neighborhood and other places, I know that prayer and fearlessness protects us all. Not putting energy into false ideas is always a good thing.

  12. Thank you, Evan and all commentators! Thanks to DavidM for reminding us of Mrs.
Eddy’s words in Pulpit and Press!

  13. Thank you Evan. SpiritView not only provides daily inspiration, but it is also a treasure chest of inspiration previously shared. I happened upon the August 26, 2008 SpiritView describing Evan’s family’s demonstration of freedom from contagion while on a bus trip that is helpful for the current C-19 situation too. You can access it below. Christian Science isn’t just theory…it’s the truth!

  14. So happy to read your entry today. I’ve missed you. So many times you helped me by providing a link to something. The last few weeks I’ve felt like I’ve struck gold! I’ve had links to a library full of Mr. Kimball’s
writings and some from Daniel Jensen. It’s been a treasure trove. I was so pleased to know you are still with us . Thanks again for all your help and wonderful comments.

  15. Loved your comments and the lesson this week which assures USA that “an improved belief cannot retrograde” and “affliction cannot rise up a second time” Never true first. Time,! Spectacular doors for. Noises of all social so-called status. Available to all is our Science

  16. INDEED, Spirit View is an invaluable Treasure chest filled with Evan’s loving contributions as well as with countless healing ideas and articles shared by the rest of you. I am on my knees grateful to God the source of all we share, for Mary Baker Eddy and her followers who have given us writings we can turn to FOREVER, and for all of your VERY RELEVANT responses, DEAR Spirit View Family!!!!

  17. Brian, thanks so much for the link to Evan’s trip to Switzerland. Evan, your pictures were fantastic. I enjoyed a trip to Europe with my daughter and son-in-law in the late 1980’s in March. We rented a Mercedes motorhome and were able to include Switzerland and skiing in the alps. Traveling in a motorhome gave me much time for prayer and study resulting in a wonderful adventure for all.

  18. Evan, thank you for your article today in which you write, ” Stand porter at the door of thought and admit only the possibility of health.”
And Christ Jesus says, “With God, all things are possible”. (Matt. 19:26)
If I may add: “Stand porter at the door of thought and admit not only the possibility of health, but the certainty of health.” Our prayers are full of expectancy and certainty, and trust in Divine Love.

While organizing my endless papers, I came across: Excerpts for an address given to the Department of Care at Chestnut Hill, Massachusetts, a talk given by Ralph Wagers, CSB. The link to the talk is: howler3572.tripod.com/Ralph-Wagers-Address.html.

Ralph Wager’s explanations of metaphysics and research throughout this talk are very clear.
As Mary B. Eddy was clearly seen, and still today, as a “fringe” thinker, she writes regarding radical reliance on Truth. (Misc. Writings, p.234:18): “That one should have ventured on such unfamiliar ground, and, self-forgetful, should have gone on to establish this mighty system of metaphysical healing, called Christian Science, against such odds,– even the entire current of mortality,– is a matter of grave wonderment to profound thinkers.”

(Message for 1901, p. 1:10), “Today you meet to commemorate in unity the life of our Lord, and to rise higher and still higher in the individual consciousness most essential to your growth and usefulness; to add to your treasures of thought the great realities of being, which constitute mental and physical perfection.” (Eddy)

  19. Thank u for these uplifting thoughts, I will share them with our members of Margate CSS South Africa.

  20. You all know this, but to be effective “Keep your thinking in the realm of reality where Mind is…” as Evan points out, is not a one shot thought you promise yourself at the beginning of the day, -“and now I’ve set my mind right”, – but a 24/7 consciousness of being in the omnipresence of perfect Mind, of perfect Love , 24/7 with no hiccup.
