If the carnal mind throws an ominous threat at you like, “You’re going to have a bad day,” or “I’m going to make you ill,” be quick to respond in a way that prevents the threat from becoming an experience.
One friend told me her reply in such circumstances is, “Maybe in your dreams, but not in my Life!” She understands her life to be God.
We can understand the same.
Just because mortal mind voices it, doesn’t mean we need to believe it.
I love the response. Good one. Thank you.

Thank you dear J; that is a wonderfully helpful article “Even If”.
Thank you very much dear Evan for the healing comforting Truth your friend told you, when something not so good was said, i.e. “May be in your dreams, but not in my life.” That means, only God’s Goodness can enter her thoughts and life, which is God, as you said, she understood.
I fully agree with this Truth-utterance of your friend. – so wonderfull! Thank you !! 🙂
These ideas are so very helpful as reminders about what is true.!!
Mrs. Eddy’s admonition to “Stand porter at the door of thought” will always hold relevance.
Thank you, Evan.
Whenever I hear a statistic like X% will get X misfortune, disease, etc. I immediately put myself in the percentage that won’t get it because I know that my life is under divine Love’s tender care. After I do that I deny the problem can affect anyone as everyone is a pure idea of God. “Divine Love alone governs man”.
The practice of CS produces the proven “outliers”.
If it’s not from God and God didn’t say it, it’s simply not true.
Thank you Evan and everyone for these daily doses of inspiration and healing.
Hi dear Patty, I want to go a bit further with your truth utterance, i. e. … it’s simple not true …
If it’s not from God and God didn’t say it, it’s simply not said at all! I find this thought very comforting and convincing.
Great advice. Thank you!
This is helpful for responding to any anxious thought or feeling of dread. Thank you Evan.
One of the most important things Christ tells us is that the “accuser”, a.k.a. mortal ‘mind’ is a liar and the father of lies. So, my response to carnal ‘mind’s’ threats is, “I do not believe a liar.” Often, I follow up with something a wonderful practitioner shared – to tell ‘it’ – “I am not listening to you, so go talk to yourself.”
Thank you, Evan, and all for all of the uplifting, Truth you share!
A few days ago I was grateful for your responses when I wrote of not feeling able to describe what Christian Science is. Here is an update…
I’m from Australia and visiting my son who lives and works in London. This morning, at a Cafe beside the river in Henley, I told him about Christian Science, about how Jesus healed people by seeing the sick the way God saw them, made in His image and likeness, always well and perfect. I told him about the synonyms for God, about Mary Baker Eddy and her love for the Bible and her discovery, after an accident and some very long term ailments, that she could heal like Jesus, that there were and are divine laws that are just as powerful today as they were in Jesus’ day.
My son, who is quite a philosophical chap was very open minded and interested. I even told him of a healing of my own and about a time where God’s presence, before and during a time of huge loss in our family, was so helpful and how I felt strengthened and protected and guided in how to help those who were affected the most.
Thank you Spiritview family. You are really helping me to grow
dear Joanna,
thank you very much to let us know about your talk with your son about Christian Science and your own experiences with our precious CS! Certainly your really wonderful talk with your son was God inspired and God directed. God is always with us – His loved children. – In such peaceful and healing Situation. Still better, this wonderfully harmonious situation has it’s sourse in our Father-Mother God to bless you and your son! ♡
Thank you for reporting back, Joanna – what you said to your son was obviously just
right. I was interested also because I love about a 20 minute drive from Henley.
P.S. The word “love” should read, of course, “live” – but the “love” can be added as well!!
