Safety from terrorism

We are not helpless to stop the terrorism spreading around the globe. Collective prayer will improve the state of humanity’s thought and neutralize evil intent. And the first place to start the reformation is with finding peace in one’s own point of view.

I find the below a powerful prayer to wrap myself up in, and my neighbor too.

Those who live in the shelter of the Most High will find rest in the shadow of the Almighty.

This I declare about the Lord: He alone is my refuge, my place of safety; he is my God, and I trust him.

For he will rescue you from every trap and protect you from deadly disease. He will cover you with his feathers.

He will shelter you with his wings. His faithful promises are your armor and protection.

Do not be afraid of the terrors of the night, nor the arrow that flies in the day.

Do not dread the disease that stalks in darkness, nor the disaster that strikes at midday.

Though a thousand fall at your side, though ten thousand are dying around you, these evils will not touch you.

If you make the Lord your refuge, if you make the Most High your shelter,…

~ Psalm 91, NLT

  1. Thank you, dear Evan, very much for reminding us of this psalm – if we put us always under these wings of God we are safe. Anyhow, I understand all psalms as prayers .

  2. Thank you, Dear Evan! Yes, powerful, effective prayers are the Truths from the Bible about God’s Goodness and Love that we hold firmly in our consciousness and keep close to our Hearts. Evil, Error, Terrorism is always trying to get a foothold in our thought, trying to convince us of its Reality……but when we “know the Truth”, the Truth will set us free from the hypnotic, mesmerizing barrage of fearful thoughts that are trying to convince us of Evil’s reality. This is why it’s so important each morning to Pray, Study the Bible and Science and Health, and to get and keep our thought uplifted on God’s Goodness and Love. It is this work, this deep, prayerful thinking, that not only protects us, but brings peace and protection to our world. Amen! God Bless!

  3. Good way to start the day, thank you Evan, to point us to know as we pray for the world, we ourselves are also included in that prayer of protection in the eternal truth of life and selfless love.

  4. Thanks, Evan, for sharing the NLT translation of the 91st Psalm. I set a goal some time ago to memorize this Psalm and accomplished it just a couple of weeks ago. I have been enjoying it in my morning prayers, in addition to the 23rd Psalm which has always been a favorite of mine.
