So, what have you accomplished today that is significant?

Watch this short video, and you’ll see a man who did something significant over seventy years ago, and never told anyone about it. Then his wife found out…

Sir Nicholas Winton
The story of Nicholas Winton

  1. What a beautiful testament to the power of good in action! This story is a cogent reminder of what one person with determination and dedication to a right idea can accomplish. Thank you for sharing Sir Winton’s inspiring story!

  2. How beautiful is this story and your timing is perfect as I am trying to pray for the children of Iraq as the murdering continues. It is like a fresh drink of water, reminding me that Love is greater than hate. And that the actions of one good person can change the world.

  3. A very touching account of one man’s response to God’s impulsion to refuse
apathy and DO SOMETHING for these families. His human efforts were
Love-based, divine Principle-based, (whether he would call it this, or not) and thus powerful, at least for the 669 he saved. And now, all these years later, a strong message for us…

In Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures, Mary Baker Eddy tells us,
“The Christlike understanding of scientific being and divine healing includes a perfect Principle and idea, — perfect God and perfect man, — as the
basis of thought and demonstration.'” (Pg. 259)

It is not easy, for me, anyway, to deny the (often harsh) sense pictures
and to acknowledge God’s control of His universe, to see how very practical this
fact is, right here in so-called human life. But I believe this
man’s effort was based on his acknowledgement of the power of good, which is
based on the absolute fact of God and man. He was demonstrating the truth without knowing it.

And it comforts me to know that man’s life is actually intact, permanently held in God’s loving care, no matter what the human picture appears to be.

Thank you, Evan, for sharing this article.

I heard last night that there are 49,000 Hispanic children who are being
retained by the government in their effort to get out of very bad conditions in their homeland, and into the US. A shocking number. I invite you to join me in
prayer for these innocent ones. Thank you.

  4. This is an incredible story about an incredible Godly man. There is another story about an American couple who went to Germany And Aystria and brought here to America 50 Jewish children. I just bought their grandsons account of the events. They, too, told no one what they did. At their passing family found the wife’s diary. I believe the book is called Fifty Children.
There is hope in the world!

  5. Thanks Evan for bringing to us this beautiful story of an angel of God – Sir Nicholas Winston. It was so very touching. My heart still goes out to Sir Winston and the last batch of 250 children who were in the train, but could not reach their destination and also for the parents who were waiting to receive these children.
Sir Nicholas Winston must be having pure, selfless and christlike love for those hundreds of innocent children, for whose safety and well being, he worked tirelessly day and night. His magnanimous and noble deeds are beyond any words of appreciation. The most incredible thing was that he kept this unmatched act of kindness from his wife for years together. A true
follower of Christ indeed. My heart overflows with gratitude to Sir Nicholas Winston for his outstanding humanitarian acts and am so inspired by them. Thank you God for Sir Nicholas Winston.
