Seek God’s guidance and stay on track

July 25, 2018 | 11 comments

“You have done many good things for me, Lord, just as you promised. I believe in your commands; now teach me good judgment and knowledge. I used to wander off until you disciplined me; but now I closely follow your word.”

~ Psalm 119:65-67, NLT

If you ever feel lost or uncertain about what to do or how to do it, turn to God with your whole heart. Seek His wisdom and let Him guide you to where you need to be. The direction you need to go will appear, and you will wander no more.

  1. Thank you, Evan.
Being able to turn to God, the One Mind and follow His direction is so important when you have to move or find a new job, but I was surprised that the first thought that came to me was “I need to remember this when I go clothes shopping”. And that’s true. God is there to guide us in the mundane chores we have to do, too.
    Thank you for the inspiration.

  2. This is Wonderful, Evan, and so True! Every morning, first thing, I kneel beside my bed and prayerfully turn my Day, my Will and my Life over to God and ask for Her Help and Guidance with my Thoughts, Words and Actions. It Works! And sometimes I have to ask for the Willingness to Turn It Over….I am willing to be willing to be willing to be willing……..

  3. Thank you. for this.

I find that starting each day with, “Good morning God, what good things do you have in store for me today?”, reminds me to have an expectation of good. Especially when issues may be tempting to push us off track. It also helps to get human will out of the way and let God’s plan unfold.

  4. Thanks, Evan. I used to tell my children when they were little and we were going shopping, “God will find us a parking place,” and sure enough one would be right where we needed it to be. They eventually would say when we got in the car, “God has a parking place for us.” They knew we didn’t have to fuss and fume. God would take care of us and guide us. It’s a lesson, however small, that we all learned from and have applied to the so-called “bigger” problems in life.

  5. Be still
    and you will
    Know…
    In silence
    Your imaginary
    self will disappear…
    and the Higher Mind,
    you Truly are,
    will be here…
    Containing all
    you could
    ever need,
    having found IT,
    Peace Profound
    is yours indeed…

    1. Oh, Maximo – I suppose you are Maximo –
how wonderful and inspiring is your lovely poem.

I also would suggest that you send it to the
Publishing Society to let it publish in the Journal
and Herald – it is so good!

  6. thank you very much, Evan for the certainty you give us, that God opens us the right way and leads us if we turn to Him in prayer.

Love the verse from Psams 119 – it expresses my gratitude to God and the desire to learn more from and about Him. His wisdom is our wisdom as God`s total expression, that is what I pray to understand better, when it`s needed. And the last sentences are very true – God disciplined me to turn to church, and work as God`s worker therein and be blessed – thank you God!

Thank you a l l for your inspired comments! 🙂

  7. A great reminder Evan. Daphne, I too have always said “if this is right. it will work out” or “if we are meant to be here or do this, there will be a parking spot.” Back in the 60’s my husband’s Aunt always used those terms. When human will is put out of the way God’s will guides us.
