Seeking fitness

May 25, 2022 | 11 comments

Millions of people strive for physical fitness. Some achieve it, and some continue to strive. But what’s the most important fitness of all?

In this video, I explain the importance of striving for spiritual fitness above all else, and how a healthy state of Mind brings the best result.

This vlog was filmed at Lava Lake in the Gallatin National Forest, near Bozeman, Montana, when my wife and I visited in August 2021.

    1. Thank you so much, Fay, for the link to this wonderful article! I’ve already read it twice this morning and shared it!

    2. Thank you, Fay, for sharing this wonderful article! And as always, thank you, Evan, for SpiritView and every one of your inspiring and loving posts. ❤️

    3. This article from the archives is just what I needed to read today. I have been dealing with a health issue for the past 2 mos. Progress has been v-e-r-y slow. But I could be a lot more grateful for the progress that is happening.

      1. Dear Sandy, please know that you are not alone…I think it’s probably fair to say that we all deal with something. I read this last night in an article about a healing, and your comment about “progress being v-e-r-y slow” just made me think of it. The quote was, “A slow healing is a slow recognition of the fact that there is nothing to heal”. Wow… The article also went on to say, “the woman realized that her quick recognition of man’s perfection resulted in quickly regained freedom, which won a victory over time, process and disease.”
Thank you Evan for an inspiring video. And thank you Fay for such a wonderful article – loved it. 🙂

  1. Love that fitness has nothing to do with age… and Fay, great article…on no lost opportunities which resonated with me… I dropped out of teachers’ college at 18. One day God said to me, “Get an education.” I was 35. I enrolled, fearfully, in a university degree program. Graduated 4 yrs later With Distinction, and started a 22 yr teaching career at age 40. Retired now, I still revel in the lesson of listening to and trusting God, Mind..

  2. Great! I just finished a Zoom fitness class that’s good for attitude as well as being limber. Now I feel the missing piece is provided by your message

  3. I love the idea of spiritual fitness. Our spiritual muscle gets stronger and stronger and we have greater demonstrations as we learn more about God and our relationship with Him, and lean on and trust Him more and more.

  4. In her sermon “The People’s Idea of God”, Mary Baker Eddy says “We possess our own body, and make it harmonious or discordant according to the images that thought reflects upon it.” Evan, as you say in your inspiring video, thought imbued with the qualities of gratitude, kindness, gentleness, compassion, tenderness, forgiveness, and spiritual mindedness, will cultivate a true sense of fitness. Thank you for another perfect message today.

  5. Hi. speaking of qualities i realised that i got angry with someone for doing their job yesterday. Its a big relief to think about being more considerate. It does make me feel too that I need to be more careful when having conversations with people.
