I’ll hold this in thought as a guide in all I do today–another way to reflect our expression of God. Self-control requires ‘standing porter’, doesn’t it?–knowing that God is the source of our being and all action is in him.
First thanks a lot for all your wonderful blogs. It is a great “present”from you to all of us to write them almost every day.
For me the motive is so important – “exercise self-control” out of love – because God loves you and cares for you. To “stand porter” and to defend your God-given immunity and health – out of Love for God and yourself.
Mrs. Eddy says in Science and Health something like this…”man is properly self-governed (controled) when governed by God.” So it’s not OUR self at all! Understanding this makes it so much easier. (=
