Here’s a link to an article I wrote for the Tri-City Herald, my local newspaper, that was published last week.

“Give your children a home filled with love”

  1. Great article, Evan, and super idea to submit to your local paper. More Christian Scientist practitioners and teachers should do this. The idea of kids having so much and being so unhappy that they turn to self-destructive behaviors and drugs is a rampant problem today. The idea of love and peace at home may sound novel to many, as homes are so fraught with trouble today.

  2. Lovely! A nurturing loving home is the greatest power on earth. It’s where the lessons of life are learned. I see lots of stuff in modern homes, toys galore, but what’s most needed is living the Golden Rule, and teaching our children to do the same. Lots of “snuggle time” too! Nothing is more important.

  3. What a vital and, indeed, lifesaving topic this is for families today! Thank you for your love, Evan, in sharing the answer with your community.

  4. Thanks, Evan. A wonderful topic and, I am sure, helpful to many in your community and to us with whom you shared it.

  5. when my brother in law and his wife first separated, I remember my nephew who was 5 at the time saying that one good thing was he could enjoy his cereal in the morning without the screaming that usually went on. Since nothing has significantly changed in the relationship of the parents since the divorce, this the child who runs off to some secluded place and still prays in his way for peace. Children do respond to and crave peace. It gives me some comfort that this child, and he is not the most pleasant of children, turns to his praying for peace.

  6. such a wonderful point to address in a local paper, and one so many can easily start working towards as soon as they read it!

  7. Wonderful article for a newspaper. Applicable to so many families.

You are truly walking with Jesus by spreading his words and those of our Father around the world in a manner so understandable to all. Thank you Evan.
