What you say with words and how you say it matters. It speaks volumes about what kind of person you are, and can significantly impact those you speak to. So, be sure to say what blesses you and them. Let divine Love inspire your thought and words.
“Don’t use foul or abusive language. Let everything you say be good and helpful, so that your words will be an encouragement to those who hear them.
Thank you so very much Evan for your lovely posts. Each one is so so good. Its so important to speak kind and encouraging words, which can act like a soothing balm to the one who is troubled, and pull him out of the darkness of despair.
Harsh words on the contrary, may inflict pain and cause wounds, that may never heal.
Words once uttered can never be taken back, just like an arrow shot from a bow can never come back. So its extremely important to seek divine help to guide us and enable us to speak tender, loving, encouraging, healing words.
Its when we are wilfull, that we are taken over by “anger” and speak abusive language. But if we seek Gods will and drop our wilfullness, knowing that everything happens for good, we will never snap or get angry or use abusive language. “Everything is under the control of the one Mind – even God, good”
Under the government of Love (another name for God) only kindness, patience, generosity, compassion reigns supreme. “The depth, the breath, the height, the might, the majesty and glory of Infinite Love (GOD) fills all space.” Is there any room left for anything else???
Thank you for today`s SV Evan, thats so important!
Nergish, I suppose nobody could explain it better than you did, thank you very much!
I am working to listen to God before I talk to somebody in order to bless us all, especially when I want to correct a view of somebody with which I cannot go conform.
Just again exact what I need for today – am grateful for it.
Thank You, Evan, for these words of wisdom! It’s so important to be honest about the real feeling and intent behind our words. Words in themselves are powerless….it’s what’s in the Heart behind them that does the Healing. We can be hypocrites with our words, just trying always to say the “right thing”….to get peoples’ approval, to get them to like us, to look good. It takes deep prayer and surrender to God, to forgive, to let go of hate and resentment, and to heal our own hearts. Then our words will naturally express what’s in our Hearts. Also, it’s sometimes necessary to speak forcefully and loudly to error and not in a “nice way”……”Get thee behind me, Satan!!!” Jesus didn’t mince his words when addressing the error he saw in the Pharisees or even in his own disciples. As it says in the Bible, “He loved righteousness and hated iniquity.”
Thank you, Evan. How very important to relationships, because beside the human voice which speak for us are one’s actions which speak the truth of our thought. Three days ago, a young man drove up to a gasoline pump and called to me to ask if he could ask me a question. Yes, I said thinking he might want directions to a destination point. He was, but not what I was thinking. Then he asked how many years my wife (who was seated in the car) and I had been married. I responded : “60 years in 2016”. He asked, what we could contribute that many years to as he and his wife had gone through divorce. I responded, that each needs to willingly share with each other, not just things, but share ideas, their thoughts, (a bit of the Science of Christ). I added that sharing is loving, and likewise, loving is sharing. With a few more explanations, he thanked me for the help I had given and that he felt much better than he had for so time, and that he would no longer be depressed, as he would hold to the Truth I had ministered. A small gift it was, but he had gladly received and would continue to cherish. For him, and for my dear wife and me, “actions speak louder than words.”
SpiritView is healing the world! Gratefully.
Nice story! Thanks for sharing.
I have learned this time and again. and when I just want to give up, I take some time and ask myself what is the most loving and intelligent way to respond and I always get an answer. I have worked in some form of public relations my entire work life, and this approach has been miraculous.
Thanks Nadine. Your comment reminded me of John 8 where they bring Jesus the woman taken in adultery and ask him what to do. Initially “Jesus stooped down, and with his finger wrote on the ground”. I’ve always assumed Jesus was reaching out to God for just the right answer during that time just as you described as the method you have used. Thanks for sharing this!
This has been very timely. A friend told asked me recently why was I so angry.?
I was taken back at first. I was unaware that my tone was so ugly. Whenever I speak about issues I must loose joy when I comment and become very negative. I will proceed more lovingly
In the future. This was a wake up call !
I know what you mean Patty….. Maybe we are just passionate people….However most of my rebukements from Spirit are around this Passionated way I often express myself…..I will remain passionate while nuancing the delivery…
Blessings to the deep feeling lovers of life….
Yes, a good reminder. I love thinking about speaking the truth with kindness and humor. Thank you.
Thank you all.
Thank you Evan and all SV fans for speaking such Love and kind words that we all can learn and live. Holding our thought to these attributes are not always easy. Especially when you may be enduring hardships. We must continue to believe in the good and the true which comes from God. Brotherly Love is so important and I appreciate all the sharing that continues to be given through this most loved blog and website.
Nice reminder as sometimes in jest I have over reached my terminology .
So well said Bevi. I loved your comment. Yes as you say, the words we speak should also be sincere and should come from the heart and not in order to look good or for approval. Thoughts, words and deeds should be in harmony. I would like to share something with you, the very foundation of the Zoroastrian Religion in which I am born is, GOOD THOUGHTS, GOOD WORDS AND GOOD DEEDS. Evans post and your lovely comments reminded me of what I learnt from my childhood.
Congrats to Sunshine on completion of 60 years of marriage. How very kind of you to share the secret of your happy marriage viz. both the partners should share their thoughts and ideas, cares and concerns with each other. That way the communications improve and the relationship prospers and lives long. Great sharing thanks so much Sunshine.
Thanks Evan for communicating with us and showing us the way. God bless.
Thank you Evan. And thanks to all who shared their experiences and comments. Here is a lesson I found about ‘speaking.’
The Little Things
Speak understandingly to other hearts, In language sweet with comfort and with peace
And bring to tired eyes a happy light, And to the burdened breast a quick release.
Speak gently in a hurried, clamorous world, In words of patience for the pressing throngs
Walk quietly in noisy marts of men, And heal the jagged cut of mortal wrongs.
Speak lovingly in answer to earth’s hate, For simple words of love have precious powers
To heal all hate, to still sin’s strident shock, And make of time a strand of song-sweet hours.
These are the little things that all can do, To beautify each day with happiness
The little things too often overlooked, The little things that cheer and heal and bless.
