Spiritual sense your faithful guide

July 24, 2025 | 20 comments

Material sense agrees with disease and often accepts a path of suffering as consequence.

Spiritual sense sees health and how to live it out, free of disease.

To stay healthy, be quick to reject any unhealthy testimony coming from material sense and even quicker to align with spiritual sense.

Spiritual sense is your faithful guide to health that sticks and stays.

  1. I am keen on hiking and this photo talks to me reminding me being vigilant àlong our path, all along our day not allowing mortal idéas of sin, desease and war taking advzntage of our divine heritage , over God’s authority governing the world not evil

  2. Not many responses yet today, and I rarely add a comment. But, Evan, like many others, I read SpiritView every day without fail, and feel deep gratitude for what you share. I thank God for the angel thoughts expressed by you and those who respond. Love to all❣️

  3. In November of 2018 my home town burned to the ground.
This photo is so reminiscent of the look of the place I had lived in for forty
years and just looking at it is quite healing for me. I have had times when I long to
have that nature and pine-scented loveliness around me again. Now I have
found my “nature place” where I can commune with God each morning. It is in
a special place where I walk my dog every morning. It is basically in my own
back yard! It is not a substitute for my former home but it offers comfort, beauty
and shelter for both animals and people, God does supply all our needs, even the
unspoken ones. Thank you Evan for providing all of us with this blog where we can find
a place to express our feelings and gratitude to God and our to fellow man. I enjoy
reading the responses from others each day! Now I am more attentive to being grate-
for the things in my own backyard.

    1. Thank you so much for sharing your experience,
Sacramento Sandra – it is Maggivery humbling. You have found something very precious by trusting in God through such a trial.

  4. Thank you for this spiritual sense uplift. A friend had an experience where she
was called to check on a friend of hers, found her unresponsive and had to deal
with a lot of mortal sense disruptions of peace. In trying to help comfort her in
ways that are different from some of her ways of thinking, she did find peace in
turning from the mortal, material and saw her friend in a more spiritual light and
thus did find serenity. From S & H, pg. 516, Mrs. Eddy, writes, “…. when we
subordinate the false testimony of the corporeal senses to the facts of Science,
we shall see this true likeness and reflection everywhere” and further on she
writes, ” The modest arbutus sends her sweet breath to heaven. The great rock
gives shadow and shelter. The sunlight glints from the church-dome, glances
into the prison-cell, glides into the sick-chamber, brightens the flower, beautifies
the landscape, blesses the earth. Man, made in His likeness, possesses and reflects
God’s dominion over all the earth. Man and woman as coexistent and Eternal with
God forever reflect, in glorified quality, the infinite Father-Mother God.”
Spiritual sense transcends the material and replaces inharmony with peace.

  5. Thank you, Evan, as always. Grateful for every encouraging glimpse!

I’ve copied and printed your reminder/encouragement, for my wall. I’m studying “spiritual sense” today!

PS. Thanks for the Comments, Commenters! :<)))

  6. Thanks Evan. The words at the end of your message caught my attention, “health that sticks and stays.” It made me thing of a phrase I’ve read in CS literature that says something like (paraphrasing) “Start with God, stay with God, stand with God, stick with God and finish with God.”

All God, good — from start to finish, that’s all there is, nothing else exists for the children of God. At times it can seem hard to maintain the absoluteness of this outlook but I am convinced that it is Divine spiritual law, God’s fully operating, unchanging law, we can’t made it so or made it unso, it just IS.

So grateful to be here with all of you, knowing that we are working together to see Life and the world in its True Light, not as mortal mind would present it to us.

    1. Thank you very much, dear J , I have to print it out to be able to read this long artucle properly, as here in the smartphone it’s so small.

      1. thanks a lot, dear Martine. So it’s readable here in my Smartphone. However, it’s midnight here and therefore I will enjoy reading it tomorrow! ❤️

      2. Wow! What a powerful and helpful article. Thank you for sharing it, and Evan, thank you as always for your persistent and inspiring gift to us all in SpiritView.

    1. very sweet and true Narrell, thank you very much! ♡

Thank you Evan, to remind us, to use the important and valuable Spiritual Sense.
Mrs. Eddy says in Science and Health on p. 209:31
“Spiritual Sense is a conscious, constant capacity to understand God.”
I love this passage, because through spiritual sense we feel our nearness and oneness to our Father-Mother God, as through this God bestowed spiritual sense we can understand God constantly and consciously. We just have to use this enlightened spiritual sense!♡

  7. Thankyou Evan, much gratitude to you and all, Spirit View is such a Spiritual Gift , it’s a Present every morning. unwrapping all the inspirations from all of you . Thankyou!

  8. Places like today’s photo make me feel very close to God
But I can’t stay there physically , forever. As soon as I am around other people, traffic, crowds, TV ads, News programs etc., I lose that peace of Mind.
I know God and CS doesn’t intend for man to become hermits,
Jesus often went off in the wilderness to pray, and Evan shares many
inspirering messages when he is hiking in remote areas.
But I just can’t keep my thought “in the secret place of the most High”
these days. Can anyone relate to this?
