“… it is high time to awake out of sleep” (Romans 13:11).
“Make sure that you don’t get so absorbed and exhausted in taking care of all your day-by-day obligations that you lose track of the time and doze off, oblivious to God….Be up and awake to what God is doing! (Romans 13:11,12, The Message).
Be wise to not get so absorbed by a material sense of things that you lose sight of Life in Spirit.
Stay awake. Stay alert and aware of reality with God! That’s the happier healthier place to be.
Yes, it’s time to wake up to reality and not keep living in the dream of matter.. Just had Wednesday readings on waking up from the dream. Thanks as always, Evan, for your insights and reminders. Spirit View is a gem!
A wonderful reminder, Evan. Thank you.
Thanks Evan:
i’m up!! awake thanking God for His goodness.
i have had wonderful experiences.
Happy Memorial Day Weekend.
This subject quite interesting because I am awake at this early hour. Woke early to take advantage of the cool morning. Turn off tthe air, open the windows, turn on the fans, blow the hot air out, garage doors are up, sitting here in the dark, making sure no unwanted critters come thru those open doors. i was sitting here praying for peace in this world. Thinking should I go back to bed and try to get a couple of hours more of sleep and then I thought lets check on SpiritView and see what Evan has for us. Thank you Evan
I felt so good because I could say I am awake and absorbing all the goodness ithat God has given us.
That’s beautiful what you have shared, Dennis. Thank you. ♥️
Love this!! Thank you Evan ! Good wake up call for the morning Along with the clock alarm!!!
Awake! This reminds me of camp song to the tune of the theme song introducing the American TV show”The Lone Ranger”, “Tthe William Tell Overtur”e by Gioachino Rossini : I‘m alive, awake, alert, enthusiastic! I am alive, awake, alert, enthusiastic! I’m alert. awake, alive. I’m alive, awake, aler. I’m alive, awake, alert,
, ENTHUSIASTIC !
I am alive because God is my life and the only Life eternally true. I am awake because God is my and the only Mind, all knowing infinite good. I am alert because I love Ttruth. I am enthusiastic because God is my and the only Love and all creative and harmonious Soul and inspiring
Spirit. I am eagerly joyfully, expectant of good as I am curious and attentive to what is God being and doing this moment. How does this dream communicate the truth of spiritual reality of God‘s lessons and blessin’s here and now? Heaven within and as each of us?
Thank you Edie. you’ve provided me with a wealth of fresh thoughts
The camp song AWAKE! is just the answer needed today, here! . ,ENTHUSIASTIC! hits the spot right ON! With hands full, schedule overflowing, the lecturer scheduled for tomorrow. Each of your Awake text has meaning to where we are today, each moment! Thank you Edie!
This idea is really important to me. I’ve thought about it a lot. I can actually feel, at the end of a day, if I’ve been awake enough to the reality and presence of God in my life. If I haven’t done my part, setting aside time to pray and acknowledging the presence and activity of God in our lives, I tend to feel empty. A great reminder. Thank you. ❣️
Knowing what you mean about feeling empty, Patty. There seem to be
so many things that would try to get us to feel not in align with the
spiritual Truth of our being. But as the sweet picture above depicts
God, our Father/Mother is gently caring for us as children holding on
to this great Love, even when we are tempted to believe what we read
or see, through the material senses, as being the total opposite.
This is from Evan’s SV on June 8, 2021: “If you are lying in bed next to someone who is dreaming, their dream is not your dream. If their dream is a dark imagination, they may appear shaken and show tension from that dream, but their dream is still not your dream. You think for yourself and have your own experience according to what you are entertaining in thought as real and true. This rule is helpful to remember when interacting with other people. All types of conditions and circumstances are presented to us in the form of other people’s experience.”
Not to highjack the conversation… but I have a question. When you have a person that wants to make you feel guilty or feel like you are a bad person for not wanting to participate in their dream/nightmare, how can you pray about that?
Hi J,
Spirit view
No one can disconnect you from God. What we seem to see them doing, the negativity of their thoughts, (which are NOT their thoughts) is actually an illusion. That’s because the reality is God‘s allness. You are completely shielded from any belief of separation from God and they are also included in this protection.
Thank you, dear friend, for sharing these comforting thoughts. They help break through the mesmerism of what appears to be going on. Appreciate your response. xo
Reading about NOT their thoughts, nailed the evil trying to enter here, but NOT allowed to come aboard my thought. Thank you ‘a friend’ for the TRUTH, I AM COMPLETELY SHIELDED FROM ANY BELIEF OF SEPARATION FROM GOD !!! (today and always)
Thank you dear “Friend” and J and all you SV friends! You all give so highly metaphysical explanations.
Here I’ll state in short my understanding of Evan’s today’s SV, hoping I get the metaphysics in this SpiritView correct!
This “staying awake”, I suppose, doesn’t mean that I have not the right for a peaceful night sleep/ rest. Because a harmonious, peaceful rest will be given us from our loving Father-Mother God!
And further I understand, Evan means with “Stay alert and aware of reality with God” that we shall stay away from “material sense of things” .
Dear Evan, thank you very much indeed that you cause us today to ponder more deeply the real meaning of “waking up” meaning “spiritually waking up” from the dream that we might be “material”. But we are total spiritual and inseparable from our God, as “a friend” up here already says. I pray to understand and know the divine truth more and more which leads to healing, as also Christ Jesus said to all of us! ❤️
While browsing through the hymnalI now found hymn #247 of which I like the first verse as it is so comforting and loving:
O walk with God along the road,
Your strength He will renew;
Wait on the everlasting God,
And He will walk with you.
Hi Uta, that is a lovely verse from Hymn 247. It made me think of something my mother used to say to me when I was in my teen years and starting to go out to social activities with friends and on my own. We were not CS’ists but she had a trust in God. She would say as I left the house to go out, “God is walking by your side.” It seemed to make her feel better to see me as protected like that. I didn’t think much about it or appreciate it at the time, but over the years, as I have grown in spiritual understanding, it means more and more to me that she planted the idea in my thought of God walking by my side.
Thanks dear Rose, such a loving comment♡
Thank you for sharing just what I needed today, Rose.
Thank you, Evan, for this post. When I saw the Title, it alerted me. Thank you Uta, Edie and Dennis and all for your comments.
I seem to have had a little different challenge with finding myself not being alert and awake when praying, studying, etc. when I realize I am dealing with what Mrs Eddy calls ” aggressive mental suggestion” in the Manual (Article XIII, Section 6) I turn my efforts to defending myself from mut following her instructions as mentioned there. That tends to get me on the right track. Sections 1 and 4 are helpful as well.
I love Hymn 500 by Susan Booth Mack Snipes:
I awake each morn to a brand-new day, / Singing Hallelujah! as I go on my way, / For my heart is fixed on this one guarantee: / The Love that is All holds me tenderly.
REFRAIN / Tender mercies, oh tender mercies, / Tender mercies are holding me. / Tender mercies, oh tender mercies, / Tender mercies are holding me.
(Hymn. 500)
Wonderful Hymn, thank you Pat. I love that hymn as well! In it is indicated our nearness to God!♡
Worry, I meant “from NOT “following her instructions.
