Stay out of mortal straitjackets

July 3, 2013 | 5 comments

Have you ever been told, “You can’t do that!” when you knew you could?
Have you ever been warned, “You’re too young, you’re too old, you’re not smart enough,” when you knew you weren’t too young, weren’t too old and were smart enough to get the job done?
Any type of limiting belief, if accepted as truth, acts like a straitjacket on our accomplishments. We get stuck, stymied, frustrated, upset, irritated, maybe even feeling hopeless and helpless.
But we are never helpless!
An idea of God is never limited by the matter of mortal mind. And you are an idea of God designed to reflect Life without limit.
Mind decides what you can do, not mortal mind.
So, stick up for your spiritual rights and remember who you are—a capable, able, intelligent, wise and competent worker for God.
Refuse to let mortal mind outfit you in a set of confining mental clothes you don’t want to wear. Protest, stay free and live out your potential. God will support you all the way.

A mortal mind straitjacket is not a fashion statement that brings out your better side.

  1. I have been told that “It can’t be done.” or “It can be confusing.” or “It doesn’t follow C/S.” All these can’t do remarks were coming from C/Scientists themselves. A Third ModernTestament based on MBE and her first Practitioner followers, was advised to be too horrible to contiplate, or a fictional drama showing how C/S Prayer is used to solve a
Problem. These were the criticisms from fellow C/Scientists.

  2. Since my husband passed more than 5 yrs ago, my best friends “have my best interests in thought” as they bind and
strap me to their fears, not mine. I have had to hire tasks done to maintain my home that were normal exercises when my husband was here.
And I know why the “sexist” victim was a woman! It happens to men but not as often because fewer men remain.
Thank you for this timely reminder.

  3. We are not all free to do as we please. Women do a ton of things from duty that stops their own talents, and preferences. Shocking and ugly as the picture you chose is, it hits home deeply for many. Husbands get down, wife takes on the cares and duties. Sons come home in damaged condition, Mom drops her life, and becomes caretaker. And on and on.
