Declare your independence

July 4, 2013 | 3 comments

It’s Independence Day in the United States, a day to remember the country’s Declaration of Independence from foreign governmental control over 200 years ago.
You might not live in the United States, and this holiday may have little or no meaning for you, but the spirit of Independence Day can be carried into all aspects of one’s life, regardless of where you live.
Every day should include a declaration of independence from external mental control!
The belief of mind-control is so prevalent in this world, that we must actively defend our consciousness from its claims to keep our health and happiness intact.
Anytime we feel our thought going in a negative direction, toward rage, cruelty, fear, self-destructive tendencies, capitulating to disease, and their kin, there is a claim of evil at work striving to deprive us of mental and spiritual sovereignty. Rise up and defend your consciousness! Don’t let the intruders enter. Declare your independence and remain free.
Your thought belongs to God, not to the carnal mind. You can stay spiritually minded and reap the benefit. This is the way God made you. Understanding this truth and practicing it will keep you strong and protected from evil, and give you reason to celebrate for all the good it multiplies in your life.

“God has endowed man with inalienable rights, among which are self-government, reason, and conscience. Man is properly self-governed only when he is guided rightly and governed by his Maker, divine Truth and Love.” Mary Baker Eddy, Science and Health, p. 106

  1. Thank you Evan, for this clear message we can claim our independence from any influence not in line with God, with excellence, perfection, progress, goodness, love, health. How often we feel other factors are in control.

  2. I love this little Biography of Nancy Boyer-Rechlin and all bio’s of people facing adversity and overcoming them. The Biography Channel is one of my favorite Cable TV Channels. I pray for that channel to show the life of Mary Baker Eddy. WHY NOT? The most inspiring life there is, where her book, Science & Health teaches us to declare our Independence from Sin, Disease and Death.
