When there is no enemy within, the enemies outside cannot hurt you.”

  1. The enemies from within would be hatred, anger, hostility, resentment, ignorance and their kin. These types of negative and weak thinking make one susceptible to being abused and hurt by the enemies “without.”

The enemies without are also that hatred, anger, and hostility of the world. To keep your thinking clear and full of dominion and authority, in other words, not vulnerable to the abuse of hatred, anger, and so on, without, one has to first eliminate them from within. That’s what Jesus did. His purity and love enabled him to overcome all the attacks of his enemies.
