When Moses was learning more about God’s immediate power and might to free the Israelites from slavery in Egypt, God revealed Himself to Moses as the great “I AM WHO I AM” (Exodus 3:14, NLT). Inspired by this higher view of the divine presence, Moses proceeded to change world events with his newfound understanding that God was always with him and working through him.
Similarly, each of us can gain from understanding our relationship to the Great I AM better, for in it we find inseparability from God.
God is the I and man is the AM. As a child of God, you are the AM!
There is healing in the depth of these words.
God declares:
I AM all
I AM good
I AM all power
I AM Life
I AM Mind
I AM Spirit
I AM control
I AM perfect
As God’s reflection, your true state of being declares:
I AM all good
I AM God in action
I AM alive
I AM intelligent
I AM spiritual
I AM under control
I AM safe
I AM well
I AM protected
I AM provided for
I AM healthy
I AM strong
I AM able
I AM okay
I AM worthy
I AM loved
I AM perfect
And you could go on and on with what you are as the AM of God’s I.
The I of God and the AM of your being is as close as a circle is to round. They are forever united and coexistent as one.
There is never a moment when you are separated from the I of God.
You are God’s presence. You are God expressed. You are God’s being in action.
Any sense of separation from God is not the AM, and is not you.
You are the AM of God, and God is the I of you.

Hi Evan! Thank you for the clarity of The Great I AM! Sometimes it’s really, really hard to really believe and know that i am the AM of the I! Wow! Really? How come we aren’t told this at the beginning of our lives, or even before human birth? How do we get this Truth deep into our consciousness so that it becomes “bone of our bones”…..??? Is this the whole purpose of LIFE? To find this out and to demonstrate it? Hmmmmm….maybe that’s what Jesus and Mary Baker Eddy and the Bible and Science & Health are trying to tell us…….??!!! Thank you for another “keeper”. I printed it out so I can be reminded of who I am. Some time back you had another one I printed out about how every time we begin to say “I am” something or other….make sure it is something positive and not negative…like “I am looking forward to good things happening today” This one has even more “I am’s” So together, I will have one whale of a list of who I am. 🙂

Thank you, Evan for this insightful lesson. Will you give explanation to # 7 response, i.e., Nan’s statement. That has never been clear to me, whatever needs to be healed is materiality, whether it is sickness, sin, or medical aid. Your clarification will be much appreciated.
Per Nan’s response, I think there is a lot of confusion about the issue she mentions. Anyone can use a practitioner if they want to grow spiritually and seek out Christian Science healing.
It’s important to understand that there is a difference between medical treatment and Christian Science treatment. When a patient takes a medicine, they are thinking, “This material pill is going to heal me.”
When a patient requests CS treatment, the practitioner is going to treat their thought metaphysically with spiritual truth that enables them to feel the healing power and presence of Spirit taking their thought, and thus experience, to a better place. But if the patient is consciously thinking something material is going to heal them, they are resisting the metaphysical treatment, either consciously or unconsciously. They will benefit when they turn their mental attention from the physical to the spiritual.
So, this is what is important to understand. If a patient on medicine sincerely wants to be healed spiritually, the practitioner can help them make that transition. It needs to be done through inspiration and spiritual growth, not through human will or blind faith.

Many practitioners are happy to prayerfully support the sincere desire to be healed spiritually. Thanks, Evan, and everyone. I love MBE’s definition of GOD, and often, if I awake during the night, will ponder it. I think to myself if God is the “all-seeing, all-acting…” that He is the ONLY one that sees, acts, etc., and as His child each one of us reflects that. We can only see, etc., what God sees—only good. It’s always been helpful to me.
