Safe in God’s refuge

August 15, 2016 | 16 comments

O God, listen to my cry! Hear my prayer!

From the ends of the earth, I cry to you for help when my heart is overwhelmed.

Lead me to the towering rock of safety, for you are my safe refuge, a fortress where my enemies cannot reach me.

Let me live forever in your sanctuary, safe beneath the shelter of your wings!

~ Psalm 61, 1-4, NLT

The “safe refuge” of God’s protection is spiritual consciousness. And you can have spiritual consciousness wherever you are physically located.

God is with you. God is around you. God is above, below, behind and in front of you.

God is never taken by surprise. God knows all, and reveals whatever you need to know to stay safe and out of harm’s way.

Stay close to God and you’ll feel God close to you. It’s a very safe place to be.

  1. I listened to God’s Law of Adjustment for the many times over today. It was the first CS articles I ever read and listened to. I am just as awestruck today as I was almost 30 years ago. I have never suffered from hearing the Truth, just holding on to the mental garbage. thank you for this message.

  2. Thanks, Evan! So Comforting and True! I also Love that we are “hid with Christ in God”! Keeping our thoughts just fully centered on God’s Presence and Power, His/Her constant Love for us is our Shelter from all Fear and Harm. Truly……”He will keep thee in perfect peace whose mind is stayed on Thee.”

  3. I always feel so comforted when God is revealed to me in small things . I like to say “Thank you God ” for finding my glasses, remembering something, inspiring , supporting me all the time. I
Feel like I am living in fathomless billows of God’s Infinite Love.

  4. Psalms 46:10 … “Be still, and know that I am God…”

I am so trying not to run the universe. (I hear you laughing!!)
Well, MY little “universe,” anyway. Even there, I mainly blow the job.

Christian Science comes to my rescue time and time again,
gently reminding me that I need not take on such false responsibility.
God is in charge! He is governing! He is comforting, guiding, caring!
Christ Jesus knew this, and said it so clearly: “I can of mine
own self do nothing.” (And yet look what he DID!! By reflection.)

I go back again and again to the analogy of the sun and its rays: Can
the rays do ANYthing without the sun? Hardly!

So, on I go, and grateful, very grateful, for the truth of being, as Forever Guide!

  5. Nadine, I didn’t know that God’s Law of Adjustment was available as an audio. Can you include the link as I’d love to be able to listen to it. Thanks!

  6. Today it seems as if the focus is on terrorism or other eval things.
But in Gods kingdom thats not true and not happening. And therefore I am grateful, dear Evan for your todays SpiritView that God is our refuge and strength! Every precious Truth you uttered in todays SpiritView can be put together in one sentence: We all are living and moving and having our being in Him, who is our shelter now and forever.

It is timeless and has so many good ideas to help and heal!!
It helped me gain dominion and realize a healing concerning a knee problem a year ago. Have listened and prayed with these ideas many times and it is a fresh perspective and gives food for thought every time!

  8. Many thanks Brian and Sue for responding to my question. I just listened to “God’s of Adjustment” using Sue’s recommendation and it was so inspiring! Now that I know how to access it, I can listen again and again. It’s been quite some time since I’ve read it.

  9. A special thanks to you, Brian, for including that link. I have copied and pasted it into an email to myself and can now access not only “God’s Law of Adjustment” but “Possessions” and many other historical articles.
