The one Mind plans ahead

September 18, 2025 | 30 comments

Do you ever fret and worry about what is going to happen in the future?  Fret no more.

The one Mind always plans ahead and puts everything into place for every right idea to happen in the perfect way at the right time.

When you stay calm, humble, and remain listening for Mind’s direction, you’ll hear what you need to hear.  Direction will come in timely ways.  Doors will open at the right time, and you’ll see where to go for the best results.

Fret no more.  Trust.  Witness what divine Mind is unfolding before you.  It’s a much better plan than you’ll ever come up with.

  1. Thank you, Evan. So good to be reminded that God, as part of His ever present Love, directs our every move and envelops us completely.

  2. Thank you Evan. As often happens, this is spot on what I needed to hear right now! I’ve been singing Hymn 553 where the second verse says, “When our own plans seem to crumble / Incomplete or ill-defined, / Let us turn to God’s creation, / Always perfectly aligned.” What a great comfort to be reminded that God’s got this!

  3. Your message is an “answer to prayer” Evan … After losing our country to war, my children and I are scattered to 4 corners of the globe – to anywhere we could be accepted. I have prayed long for an answer to the seeming fragmentation. Spirit and it’s reality is the only answer. Material sense is the lie about God and His Idea. I’m praying about Home and “without hands” … feeling so comforted and learning to trust again. Thank you.

    1. Dear F, wherever you are in this world. I know that God is right next to you. Holding your hand and directing your path and your family’s path so that you can be united. Other than prayers how can we (I) help you? Sending
      lots of hugs to you!

    2. Dear F, hopefully you will take some comfort in knowing how many fellow Christian Scientists are praying with you to find home and peace. Nancy in southern CA.

  4. Thank you Evan.. very timely as usual . I am always planning ahead, never start my day without a list that is always too long. It is easy to feel a bit of frustration or failure when our plans don’t turn out as WE planned. Top of my list should be listening for God’s plan first .

  5. Thank you , as always Evan for adjusting our wings!
    And dear F,
When my family was scattered and we all felt lost awhile, this passage became embedded in my heart until I felt its truth .From Mis 152 22-26
Thus founded upon the rock of Christ, when storm and tempest beat against this sure foundation, you, safely sheltered in the strong tower of hope, faith, and Love, are God’s nestlings; and He will hide you in His feathers until the storm has passed. Into His haven of Soul there enters no element of earth to cast out angels, to silence the right intuition which guides you safely home.
I also held to this thought, Home is
    Heavens
    Omnipresence
    Made
    Evident.

So wherever you are , or your children are , I Am already there. I found these not to be just lofty ideas, but powerful
    Truths. Everlasting arm around you.

    1. Thank you, Caroline Martin, for reminding us of that wonderful passage from MW – one I turn to frequently. When I see the pictures of struggling humanity, what a comfort to know “Into His haven of Soul there is no element of earth to cast out angels, to silence the right intuition which guides you safely home.” (Thought worth a repeat.☺️)
That particular letter of Mrs. Eddy’s to First Church of Christ Scientist, in Denver is full
of inspiration – “Of this we may be sure: that thoughts winged with peace and love breathe a silent benediction over all the earth, cooperate with the divine power, and brood unconsciously o’er the work of His hand.” MW 152: 6-10
      With love to all.

    2. Your mention of the sheltering like with God’s nestlings, Caroline – with wings
of comfort is so warm and peaceful. It reminds me of Mrs. Eddy’s poem and
hymn #32, “Brood o’er us with Thy sheltering wing, ‘Neath which our
spirits blend, Like brother birds, that soar and sing, And on the same branch bend” …
“Thou to whose power our hope we give, Free us from human strife,
Fed by Thy love divine we live, For Love alone is Life” … God, like birds is
so protective and caring and to know that our Father/Mother is guiding and
guarding us in our eternal, heavenly home – is a very comforting thought.

  6. I ran across this poem years ago. I don’t remember where I heard it.
I am the place where God shines through
For He and I are one, not two
he’s there for me no matter where I am
    If I’m relaxed and free
He will carry out His plans through me

    1. Hi Allan, the One Mind is at work. I was just about to post this very poem, which I’ve seen here on SV over the years. It was said that an army general during wartime was asked how he stayed so composed and calm. He pulled out a slip of paper that contained this poem.

It was the word ‘fret’ in Evan’s post that made me remember it. There are a few variations of the poem. here’s the one I know:

I am the place where God shines through
For He and I are one, not two
He wants me where and as I am
I need not fret, nor fear, nor plan
If I will be, relaxed and free
He’ll carry out His work through me.

    2. I have long loved that poem and did some research to find out its origin. From what I could find, it was written by Edwin Markham who was born in the mid 1800s. He also wrote this, perhaps more familiar, poem:

      “Outwitted”
He drew a circle that shut me out-
Heretic, a rebel, a thing to flout.
But Love and I had the wit to win:
We drew a circle that took him in!

    3. I too love this poem! Conversation about the author pops up numerous places even in SpiritView 7/ 29 /19 and 7 /9/ 18.

I found this article written by Neil Patrick Carrick about Charles Edwin Markham’s poems.

Thank you Evan for your dedication and inspiration that I receive each time I read your blogs, you are amazing!

  7. Thank you, Evan! A perfect message as the country and the world go through tumultuous times. I have seen God’s plan for me unfold in ways better than I could have planned or imagined many times. And tho I do try to remember that it’s not always easy.

Thanks for the reminder! Perfect message as always.

  8. Mrs. Eddy wrote to William P. McKenzie,
“It is more important to know that right is, than to know what is right. It is sufficient that intelligent Mind compels that which is right, and to this end there is no alternative.
So every one of us can be at peace, assured that right is inevitable, and a thoroughly satisfactory plan will be revealed by Mind.”
    (Recalled by Doris Henty)

    1. Thank you Desert Girl for this excellent quote from a letter written by Mrs. Eddy. Just imagine what it must have been like to receive a letter directly from her. The quote is comforting and restful, just like today’s message along with all the heartfelt responses from the dear SV community.

  9. I love all of the sweet messages of God’s care and comfort shared
here today, with Evan’s initial prompt, the graphic, the hymn, poems,
article – all bringing such a feeling of knowing that God is in control,
really … and we need not fret. It is so easy to be fearful of the future,
especially in these challenging times, but God’s ways are always
there for us, like rainbows that appear with the sunlight of Truth
to color our path with the brightness of peace and Love.

  10. fret…on the neck of a guitar,
I think of Stevie Ray Vaughn….
    …………….and on.
    never waits in the wings
we’re already flying………….I had a wonderful night in Evans archives.. 2009,
and on, when many people signed anonymous..
God plants us where he wants us in his Choir
…and hears her music..Thank you for all the inspiration of SpiritView-ers travelling
packed with Love Life Spirit Mind Christ Truth Justice … on timeless journeys
maybe Snow White “thought” she knew the names of the 7 dwarves, maybe not..
God is Principle …always answering Prayers…Peace be still.

  11. Sorry but I don’t understand the Snow White comment or the Evans archives. Please could someone explain to me. Thank you.
