Are you thinking “out of the box” today?
In common parlance, the “box” refers to limited thinking, thinking that is stuck in old patterns, finite views, outgrown theories.
In metaphysics, the “box” is matter. Matter is a finite concept of Spirit, and it’s wrought with limits, boundaries, obstacles, confinements and suffering.
To think out of the box, drop the notion that matter is substance. Focus on Spirit. See how Spirit is the sum and substance of all that is real and true.
As the scientific statement of being in the Christian Science textbook states, “There is no life, truth, intelligence, nor substance in matter. All is infinite Mind and its infinite manifestation, for God is All-in-all” (Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures, p. 468).
We live in a universe of infinite Mind, omnipresent Spirit.
What is called matter is but a finite sense of Spirit. It is ignorance of Spirit.
To experience the best Life has to offer, be sure to think out of the box. Keep thought out of the physical, and let it soar and sing with the spiritual. Stay out of material sense and let it thrive in spiritual sense.
In Spirit, the so-called limits of matter fall away. Boundless freedom is yours to enjoy!
Thank you Evan ! Just what I needed!!!
Good reminder.!
Always can be said again and again I find it a constant bit of work each day to again know where I live and move and have my being. The material decoys have seemed everywhere lately
Clarence Steves said, there is no life, truth, intelligence, nor substance, in personal sense.
My teacher said, If you absolutely understood the Scientific Statement of Being, you would poof.
I might have shared this before. If so sorry.
Thanks Even another great one.
Happy God day everyone.
I’m grateful for reading your teacher’s take on the Scientific Statement of Being. Great reminder to stick with the Truth. There’s a Truth underlying that phrase “you would POOF.” Happy God back to MB,
This SpiritView message reminds of when in Class Instruction
we were informed that you cannot put a thought inside a box.
In other words, as I see more clearly now, the infinite and
unlimited ideas of God cannot be contained in a finite substance
named matter.
So when we choose to be spiritually minded by following Christ
Jesus, we have all the wonderful infinite ideas which God gives us
to embrace and claim in our lives. Out thoughts can be used for
the purpose of shining out the infinite goodness and glory of God.
God cannot be put in a box, and neither can we as his reflection.
God’s thoughts to us give us our freedom from being mesmerised
by material world beliefs, which never get beyond their own limitations.
So we can accept fresh, new thoughts ever moment from our
Father-Mother God, which never get stagnated, stale, and stuck
in limited views and abilities. What a wonderful gift we have to
find within us – if we have not already found it. Every one of us
has this gift of God, and we are meant to use it for the purpose of
glorifying God.
Maggie thanks for, “We can accept fresh, new thoughts every moment from our Father-Mother God.” I love the idea that we are continually made new. Someone kindly shared recently on SV that they declare every day—“I am immortal, ageless and brand new every moment.” I wrote this down so I could remember it.
In line with today’s topic on recognizing our right and ability and necessity to think outside the box of matter, I recommend, if anyone missed it yesterday, the great article dear Sharon kindly shared “Going Deeper and Healing the Biggest Lie.” Here is the link again:

It’s important to know our divine rights and stand up to error. And as Evan advises, then we can let our thought soar free and sing with the spiritual. One quote from the article, “However it appears, evil is always a claim, never a reality.”
Thank you for posting this article! It was very helpful!
Thank you, Rose for reminding at thr article from yesterday.it is indeed very good and suitable. to today’s SpiritView. Yesterday I studied that article and today I printed it out for reading it again.
Thank you very much for your today’s SpiritView, Evan about using our spiritual sense, given us from our God!♡
Just the single thought that Life is infinite , Spirit is infinite, leads to very real irreversible progress!
Thanks Evan!
Love this!! And the graphic, so perfect. Thinking outside the box expands our
vistas of thought into a wider horizon where God’s Love can be shared and
appreciated, not only by those it is shared with, but also by the “sharees”…
Sometimes it seems a bit risky to share our true feelings, but when these thoughts
are understood and from Love’s perspective, our candle is not hidden under a
bushel, but like the sun, with a silver lining around the clouds, shines above
the darkened limitations of materiality into the limitless universe of Spirit.
“How can I understand ‘the scientific statement of being’ better?” by Janet Clements interviewed by the Journal’s Rita Polatin From the April 2018 issue of The Christian Science Journal:

I should have added, personal sense is the box.
Recent favorite thought turns out to be: “Our Father which art in Heaven,” adding the thought: ” which is where I want to be, ” in heaven”,kept in thought this past month while on my first lengthy travel away from home. Being in heaven is where I want to be, and the travels expanded that desire to include leaving behind all material evidence “trying to seem real”. We crossed the state where we were traveling. each day becoming easier to drop the material picture and “to reside to HEAVEN” here on earth. Less material thinking each day made me closer to recognizing God’s GOOD at every moment. Doing the discovering of all good around us, turning to what God revealed each moment led to connect us to unexpected adventures of new places opening their doors and inviting us in. What a blessing each day with God in Heaven.
I love the idea that right where the box seems to be, there is God instead!
Thanks Evan and all ! Barb
Thanks Evan – very helpful as I’ve been working myself out of box in form of headache today. Have been playing your video of Psalm 23 from Grand Canyon.
Very inspiring. Needed it. Thanks Evan
Thank you , MB, for your comment.
What your teacher said certainly goes with the illustration!
I think it is helpful to say the Scientific Statement of Being every day, maybe several times during the day, and put yourself , or whoever your are treating, in it.
So important to remember this one.. HELPFUL BEYOND HUMAN.
Thank you Evan and Everyone for great inspiration. I had a chance to think outside of
the box the other day. One morning I looked out the windows to see the beautiful
landscape littered with garbage that a bear had run off with. My first reaction was
to be annoyed at my neighbors who very often keep their bins assessable to bears
( – thinking Inside the box) and to send them a Hinting email about the mess that was
obstructing the wonderful view … but then the thought came to turn to prayer (think
Outside of the box). Every time I looked outside, which is very often, and in seeing
this obstruction of mortal matter, to look beyond what the imperfections seemed to
be portraying, to see only the divine. ( I was unable to easily get to and pick up the mess
myself) and mortal mind’s annoyance would have tempted me to wonder – how long
will this be visible until the snow covers it or the harvest plantings do. But that kind
of thinking would just be hiding the issue, not resolving it, so continued to pray about
it. A short while after I looked out and it was all cleaned up. What a great feeling. I
had sent my neighbor an email apologizing for my dog’s barking at something and
they returned an email saying a bear had grabbed their bags and it bothered them to
see the wonderful view that they enjoy, obstructed and picked up everything. I didn’t
even realize they could see it from their property between the trees, so was so grateful
to see the total perfection restored as it was. Just a small demonstration of how – when
we turn from what Appears to be obstructing our perfection by something material,
can be corrected by seeing only the good and then the mortal fades from our perspective
into God’s perfect view.
This idea of thinking in and out of the box got me to thinking about the boxes that material mindedness would try to draw around us, thus limiting us in any way. It could be a box labeled age, income, gender, ethnicity, race, economic status, etc., etc. Those boxes do not define us. They are not drawn by Mind and have no substance. Dwelling and moving in infinite Spirit, Mind, we are completely box free! Thank you Evan and all.
An even higher view might be to ask, What Box?
