Trust God and don’t worry

If you see ten troubles coming down the road, you can be sure that nine will run into the ditch before they reach you.

~ Calvin Coolidge

Jesus Christ taught, “Don’t worry about tomorrow,” (Matt. 6:34) and went onto explain that God will give you what you need when you get there. Concentrate on finding God’s goodness today and let God take care of tomorrow.

The Message interprets his words this way:

“Give your entire attention to what God is doing right now, and don’t get worked up about what may or may not happen tomorrow. God will help you deal with whatever hard things come up when the time comes” (Matt. 6:34).

  1. ‘This is the day that the Lord hath made; we shall rejoice and be glad in it!’ Psalm 118
This is the first thought that came to me having read SV this morning. What a glorious way to bring in today and every day. Thank you Evan . Love to everyone and more Spiritual growth to guide and protect everyone too❣️

  2. Don’t worry about tomorrow – as it will soon be today and likely already sorted out! Thanks as always Evan.

  3. Love these thoughts to wake up to this morning.! We do know this but it helps so much to hear it in this way and to be reminded to work at remembering to KNOW it. Thank you Evan, for your wonderful daily reminders of TRUTH! <3

    1. I would love to read this but am not a subscriber to JSH. Would one of you lovely folk out there be able to put it into a version so I can read it? Would be so grateful. Thank you in advance xx

    2. Sorry I can’t either open up the article , Yvonne sent. Could somebody help please?

Thank you very much, Evan for today”s SpiritView. I always loved the words, Christ Jesus said in Matthew. I found them not only important but also very helpful, to care for the needed doings of today and not to worry what could happen tomorrow. And today I practised it intensively insofar, that I let God guide me, what is most important to accomplish. And yes, after my lesson study I talked with my neighbor about a letter I got, which i pushed before me the other days, and we clarified the matter, which was not clear to me. I am grateful I was obedient to God and cleared that situation.
Thank you Evan for bringing us always on the right track, on the healing way!♡

  4. Thank you, thank you. THis appeals to the spontaneous way I prefer to go about my day. I do not like to read a plot of a book or movie ahead of letting it unravel before me. I suppose I like surprise. Yours is a ovely outlook for the day

  5. This reminds me of Mary Baker Eddy’s poem: “O gentle presence, peace and joy and power; O Life divine, that owns each waiting hour,…” (Mis. p. 389). How I love this poem!
Thank you, Evan and every commentor, for your posts!

  6. So many times I am reminded of hymns when reading the titles to these wonderful topics. Today’s reminds me of “Trust the Eternal when the shadows gather, When joys of daylight seem so like a dream” and as the beautiful photo depicts, ” God the unchanging pities like a father: Trust on and wait, the daystar yet shall gleam”….”Trust the Eternal, for the clouds that vanish No more can move the mountains from their base Than sin’s illusive wreaths of mist can banish Light from His throne or loving from His face”. (#359).
Butterflies start out as caterpillars and there is nothing in that stage that even resembles what
their transformation becomes with the revelation of Trust and Truth.

  7. The picture that you used of the butterfly perching peacefully on a “ heavenly-looking” cloud, EVAN, is “worry-free!”
A lesson for thought…which should be focused on Mind & His/Her direction. Another directional guide from The Father…
    My gratitude to you all.

  8. Thanks to all for your comments and especially for that inspiring, timely and helpful article. This is just what I need for the challenges facing me.

  9. There’s a wonderful talk on praying about govt by Jill Grimes, former lecturer, on The Willows Foundation website. Click on events.
    Enjoy a worry-free election period!

      1. Thank you so much Cathryn for the information about the Willows event about praying about the elections. I was able to listen to the replay and it is superb!
And thank you Evan for including the Message translation of Matthew 6:34. I found it not to long ago and taped it to my study desk. Helps to keep my thought where it needs to be and to lean on God. “To those leaning on the sustaining infinite today is big with blessings.”

  10. Thanks so much. It has been mentioned that to worry is to break the First Commandment. Happy Day free of worry.

  11. I remember once visiting a friend at his office. He…as usual…was complaining about too many bills, not enough money, etc. Since there were others present I asked him to step into a side room with me. I asked him to read Matthew 6:31-34. He looked puzzled but said okay. As I left I saw him in the hallway with his Bible open. He has since sold his business, married and is enjoying life the way it wasmeant to be.

  12. Many times I’ve shared a thought that a Practitioner said to me a number of years ago: When you were thinking in the so-called yesterday, weren’t you thinking in the NOW? And when you will be thinking in the so-called tomorrow, won’t you be thinking in the NOW? Then she said that we only have the NOW! This has helped me know that if we correct our thoughts in the presence of divine Mind each moment, we will be living and being in the NOW because there is no yesterday and no tomorrow.
Thanks, Evan, and all for your inspiring thoughts TODAY!

    1. Thank you Bea, that is divinely logical and very true. That is helpful, you mention it here – wonderful!♡

  13. Evan, your photo of the beautiful Butterfly reminds me of Mrs. Eddy’s thoughts when I see or observe a Caterpillar or Butterfly: “…we push onward, until boundless thought walks enraptured, and conception unconfined is winged to reach the divine glory.” (from S&H:323:10) Thanks so much for this beautiful, magnificent, and glorious gift of God!
