Truth is true whether others believe it or not

December 26, 2019 | 30 comments

“An error does not become truth by reason of multiplied propagation, nor does truth become error because nobody sees it.”

~ Mahatma Gandhi

Spirit is Truth, Christian Science teaches. Matter is not truth, it continues to explain, for matter and Spirit are opposites, and one would exclude the other.

Jesus Christ knew and taught this reality.

Few people may see it, but a lack of understanding will never change the truth. It stands forever to be discovered by everyone sooner or later.

  1. THE TRUTH OF UNCONDITIONAL BEING

Now don’t let a condition try to tell you how you are
Or give a sense of time and space and just how long or far.
For what makes a condition is merely a mortal scheme:
It’s a lie, a misconception,- part of the Adam dream.

Wake up! You’re in the Absolute, where God and man are One,
Where this is the Truth of Being, where matter there is none.
A condition can’t exist: for the fact must ever be
That what is true is always true: and Truth makes man so free! *

There’s simply no condition or temptation to attract.
God’s Freedom universal. It’s simple. Hold this fact.
So recognise reality: accept just what is true:
God’s Truth is unconditional, made manifest as you.

    *John 8:32
And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.

Be confident that understanding is a quality of God, and as we continue to live in His Word we will grow in that understanding. Each healing is a discovery of what is, a discovery of Truth.

  2. You got it in a nutshell Evan! And great timing too..
AND A WONDERFUL POEM Ken! Thank you both! This post tonight is very relevant for me

  3. I’m still grappling with understanding this Truth and making it real in my consciousness . Is there a shortcut? Of course not. I realize I must grow into this understanding and Spirit View is helping me do that and I am grateful. And yes, a wonderful poem! I would like to print it out and frame it to put it on my bedside table. Thank you for all comments. They too are.very helpful.

  4. This is such a profound message, but yet so simple. The Truth is always the Truth, just like a mathematical fact is founded on principle. A student or a whole classroom of students may not believe it until it is learned, but it IS still True. We are all students and what is really true is being revealed to us through each of our experiences. Sometimes I feel like a Kindergartener with so much to learn. Thank you, Ken, for sharing your insight with such a wonderful poem.

  5. As I was reading, my thought was similar to Sharons-is there a shortcut to understanding? I want to grasp the TRUTH entirely!!! Need I just surrender and let go of trying to intellectualize it? I just came up with that thought here in the moment. Please share your thoughts on this for those of us in need. I read the Bible Lesson daily along with the other periodicals and Science and Health. At times I wonder if I am trying too hard. When I go to lie down at the end of the day and just let go and listen, I find peace with the still small voice but find myself starting to grapple again first thing in the morning. I am actually finding the material world more difficult to deal with where I believe it should actually become easier. Please, please share any thoughts on this❣️

    1. When we realize material existence is an illusion it becomes easier to deal with.. every day we need to lift ourselves up..this Science is not studied just until you “get” it then the work is over. No, thinking right/praying/being with Love, God is our work..we need do it daily.. Let us not get weary in this doing- but feel refreshed in God’s pure light.

    2. I have found that it helps to start and end in the right place each day–your perfect status as God’s image and likeness. This is where you are ending each day. That is good. Then to realize you are working out “the problem of being” like a mathematician. Go after it with gusto, zest, joy, just for the love of learning it. Really study the books and look for themes, relationships, principles, connections, spiritual logic. Let your love for the subject draw you forward. Don’t be in a fix-it mode. Ask big questions and look for big answers, but always from the standpoint of already being perfect. A mortal trying to “get there” will always be frustrated. Yes, the mortal needs to be redeemed, but that mortal Is not you. You are already loved and complete and now you can prove it within Mind and with the ever-present help of the Holy Spirit.

    3. Sounds to me like you are on the right track when you heard the angel thought about surrendering. The word surrender has been coming to me frequently over the last year. I realized when I accept the thought that I need to grasp something or I need to try to understand or do something, I am accepting that I am separate from God, Mind. I surrender that thought and affirm that I have no other Mind but the one Mind because I am Mind’s reflection. As reflection I am aligned and at one with Truth eternally.
Also what you do at night by just letting go and listening is wonderful. I do that first thing in the morning before I get out of bed and when I go to bed. The moment I awake I actively surrender to God; turning, listening and obeying. This sets the tone for the day. Here is are some quotes that have feed me.

“Unto thee, O Lord, do I lift up my soul. … Shew me thy ways, O Lord; teach me thy paths. Lead me in thy truth, and teach me: for thou art the God of my salvation; on thee do I wait all the day.”
      (Ps. 25:1, 4, 5)

God’s answer: “I will instruct thee and teach thee in the way which thou shalt go: I will guide thee with mine eye.” (spiritual insight or spiritual sense)
      (Ps. 32:8)

“Give us this day our daily bread;Give us grace for to-day; feed the famished affections;”
      (SH 17:4 Give)

“One thing I have greatly desired, and again earnestly request, namely, that Christian Scientists, here and elsewhere, pray daily for themselves; not verbally, nor on bended knee, but mentally, meekly, and importunately. When a hungry heart petitions the divine Father-Mother God for bread, it is not given a stone, — but more grace, obedience, and love. If this heart, humble and trustful, faithfully asks divine Love to feed it with the bread of heaven, health, holiness, it will be conformed to a fitness to receive the answer to its desire; then will flow into it the “river of His pleasure,” the tributary of divine Love, and great growth in Christian Science will follow, — even that joy which finds one’s own in another’s good.”
      (Mis. 127:7)

“Question. — How can I progress most rapidly in the understanding of Christian Science?
Answer. — Study thoroughly the letter and imbibe the spirit. Adhere to the divine Principle of Christian Science and follow the behests of God, abiding steadfastly in wisdom, Truth, and Love.”
      (SH 495:25–31)

“It is the spirit that quickeneth; the flesh profiteth nothing: the words that I speak unto you, they are spirit, and they are life.”
      (John 6:63)

        1. thank you. I love to hear what others have leaned on.Correct identification and being alert. I like to start the day in bed with prayer and listening.

  6. What a great concise quote from Gandhi! Thank you Evan for finding it for us! And a huge thanks to Ken for that poem. It is “just what the doctor ordered “ haha. I really found it helpful in dealing with what is trying to argue that I am a mortal who wants to just give up and veg out mentally and physically.
Also glad to see that “C” posting on a happier note than on the 23rd!
Love to all at this wonderful season!

  7. Thank U all. I said to my daughter about her daughter (my only grandchild) that because she says she doesn’t believe in God, or CS, doesn’t make it any less than true. Our thoughts are powerful & KNOWING the truth is absolute protection for all who our thoughts rest upon. Evan, again, U have blessed us all.

  8. Inspired poem, Ken. Thank you for sharing this God sent message. There’s healing in this morning’s Spirit View!
Gratitude for helping us to be fed spiritually over the holidays. Keeping our thoughts up to the eternal Truth of being in spite of material claims. In spite of worldly beliefs, Truth never wavers or changes.
A new year and decade is waiting, but every day is a part of eternity. All material dreams will pass and leave only the substance of Spiritual life in and of God.
Love is the reality, and is the only thing worthy of praise.
    Love to all eternally.
Poetry is God’s language speaking directly into our heart.
Hymns are inspired poetry and never fail as they play continually in thought. These precious verses displace fear. And uplift thought to a better life experience. Recalling a bible verse that recommends the music of spiritual hymns to be present in thought.
    Do you remember them?

  9. YESSSSSSSS!!

    Love is…after all…ALL!!!

The UniVerse of Spirit and Its ideas is infinite….
ever and always unfolding only GOOD!

    Whew!

Let’s leannnnn on this sustaining truth, at least for a…minute, each hour, or day…
…..the dream of anything but Good is dissolving…. inevitably!

  10. One day, I woke up with flu or a heavy cold. I thought, “I’ll just rest some more and call in to say I’m not coming to work.” Immediately on the heels of that came this, to me, unique thought: “Joy, the truth will not be any truer in half an hour than it is right now!”
With that, I studied the lesson and was on my way to work singing! I’d forgotten all about the earlier suggestion of sickness and was totally free.
The thought: “The truth will not be any truer in half an hour than it is right now” has accompanied me ever since and led to more healings.
    God is so good!

    1. Wake up every morning, receiving a spiritual truth; this morning’s was “Become conscious for a single moment that Life and intelligence are purely spiritual, — neither in nor of matter, — and the body will then utter no complaints. If suffering from a belief in sickness, you will find yourself suddenly well.” from the S&H Turned my morning into JOY, unfolding the day according to God’s plan, not my human will, harmonious, productive, effortless, for which I am grateful. Loved you sharing your experience above, as well. Great inspiriational statement to apply to that next wake-up.

  11. Thank you dear Evan for this very comforting truth, that Truth which is God, divine Spirit with all it’s qualities like joy, health, goodness, wisdom, love , yeah all good and blessing qualities, is always true, even when others say or try to insist on the seeming contrary that there could exist error, but it cannot! Wow, it is all commented and said in this one long sentence.
Thank you all for your interesting contributions
