Unchanging perfection

January 16, 2023 | 24 comments

As a child of God, you live in a universe of unchanging perfection. This universe is filled with God’s goodness. It expresses wisdom and intelligence. It is a place of peace and health. It is Life forever.

A mortal concept of creation does not see the infinite goodness of God. It is entranced with beliefs of chance, risk, uncertainty and doubt. It sees lack instead of supply, disease instead of health, and death rather than life. It’s not a very encouraging state of thought to indulge.

However, the mortal sense is wrong. It’s not reality. It’s temporal, not eternal, and destined to yield to the truth about God’s universe, which reflects unchanging perfection.

As a circle is always round, God’s creation is always perfect.

As 5 + 5 = 10 every time you calculate it, God’s creation is perfect no matter which way you look at it.

As a musical chord with the notes C E G always sound beautiful to the ear, God’s creation is always beautiful to behold.

God’s creation is perfect—unchanging perfection. And you are part of it!

As a child of God, you are not a variable mortal, subject to lack and loss. You are an invincible immortal reflecting the eternal might and glory God. You reflect unchanging perfection.

Enjoy living the unchangeable perfection of God today!

  1. Thank you, Evan, for all the wonderfully inspiring thoughts that you share with us. They keep us up to speed with what is spiritually true. Thanks, too, to all those who regularly contribute with comments, ideas, and articles.

  2. Thus is great! so encouraging. especially when all the eyes behold is despair and chaos. it’s great to REALIZE our eternal TRUTHS about self and others….

    Thank you.. quite Beautiful.♥️♥️♥️❣️❣️❣️

  3. So grateful for this today Evan…encouraged my spiritual focus.
    ..’’In heavenly love abiding
No change my heart shall fear

    And safe is such confiding,

For nothing changes there

The storm may roar about me,

    My heart may low be laid;

But God is round about me,

    And can I be dismayed?
 (Anna L. Waring hymn , No. 148)
    Perfect day everyone❣️

  4. Thank you Evan. Truly all real cause is divine and ever perfect. In Science and Health we read that, ” He fills all space and it is impossible to conceive of such Omnipresence and individuality except as infinite Spirit or Mind. Hence all is spirit and spiritual.” 331:22.
As we can see there is nothing else.

  5. God is not conflicted as can be the state of mortal man. Why? Because an imperfect God could never create perfection only ultimately to fail in all things. Then where would faith in something more than what was experience exist? Understanding the perfect model resolves the imperfect thought into new channels of faith, understanding that which is whole, free from error. Without the perfect model there would be nothing to guide us into those new channels of understanding. So if man was ever guided, ever healed, ever experiencing of a solution of any sort, that is proof that there exist perfection. For mortal mind cannot see this fact because it cannot see beyond the veil of material existence even though it is being used daily.

Thank you, Evan. Your post on perfection is inspiring.

  6. This topic is perfect for me today. (BarbaraUK, Thank you for
sharing that hymn ~ one of my favorites). I seem to be feeling
lack in several ways and these thoughts and comments are so
    very helpful.
For example and it is a small thing, but feeding and seeing the
lovely birds, who have been coming all winter helped lift my soul.
According to my neighbor, they are all over their house now,
enjoying their food and drinking from their heated birdbath. The
temptation is to feel down about it, but Knowing the birds are
fine in this cold weather and even though I can’t see them, is
like Knowing God is present even though we can not see Him/Her but Know Love’s ever presence and uplifting Spirit and joy can never be taken from us, as mortal ways tend to try to do. I appreciate all of the lovely thoughts shared here.

    1. Carol that was a sweet metaphor about the dear birds, and knowing they are still there, just like God is always here even if it seems at times that we forget His allness.

And thanks Barbara for sharing Hymn 148 which I love. Especially today the reminder, “my heart may low be laid, but God is round about me and can I be dismayed?” I’m feeling a sense of sadness, like a mental hangover, after I watched two documentaries yesterday, one on the Holocaust and another about slavery in the US. They were both very well done and informative but I was left with some sense of despair. I need to pour in abundant spiritual truth and understanding of the one Mind of Love as I think about these heavy topics. I don’t have to be, as Evan said, “entranced” or hypnotized by mortal concepts. I want to pray about these things to see them in true Light so that all are uplifted.

Sending Love to everyone. And thank you Evan for Perfection part lll.

        1. Thank you very much for your comment,
Rose and Carolyne ~ that is a great article.
Mortal mind tries to bring our thought
down in every which way it can, sometimes,
but we have to keep trying to stay above
these drag-us-down thoughts and try to
see only God’s goodness and perfection.
Btw, as an update, there have been sweet
birds sporadically coming to the feeder,
doves, squirrels and an opossum and
          mouse have been enjoying nighttime
treats that otherwise may not have come.
My comment below came out quite
out of sync and sorry about that. I hope
          this comment doesn’t.

  7. Evan …the points offered in in all of your Spirit View posts are always succinctly stated, logical, clearly subject supportive and widely relatable. And always uplifting. They have been an unfailing support and guide to me as I go about my daily tasks and interactions. I wholeheartedly thank you

  8. Thank you, Evan. My husband and I are truly appreciating your YouTube videos, which we have recently found and “binged” on. Beautiful, simple, divine intelligence coming through. Blessings to you.

  9. Thank you. Kinda like the mispronunciation in the two words – geyser and geezer. It is interesting that……………………

  10. One of my favorite passages from Unity of Good…”an acknowledgement of the perfection of the infinite Unseen confers a power that nothing else can.” (page 7 line 20) As Evan so beautifully expresses with complete spiritual assurance, we live in a universe of God’s unchanging perfection here and now. Claiming this Truth as reality and law exposes the absolute nothingness of evil, and heals whatever attempts to oppose or distort it.

Thank you Evan for this morning’s rousing awakening to the stable, secure, unalterable law of divine Love.

    1. Thank you so very much, J, for sharing this beautiful article.
“The [full] scope of our spiritual perfection is not evident
physically…Fixing our view on and molding our lives from
the standpoint of our goodness, we will feel tangibly how
God is tenderly taking care of us.”
      I Love that!
      And it reminds me of:
“Love, redolent with unselfishness, bathes all in beauty and
light…The modest arbutus sends her sweet breath to heaven.
The great rock gives shadow and shelter. The sunlight glints
from the church-dome, glances into the prison-cell, glides
into the sick-chamber, brightens the flower, beautifies the
      landscape, blesses the earth”. S &H pg.516: 12-19
The dormant stage of winter, which paints the world in beauty, itself, hides the floral loveliness of a beautiful garden,
but that doesn’t mean the expressions of these exquisite
flowers are not there. They are always in Spirit and unfold when Spring or our Thought/Mind nudges them to open their petals.

  11. Carolyne, thanks for the link to a very helpful article. And thanks, J, for the link to another inspiring article. I am so grateful to all of you who share
links to articles that enhance Evan’s message.

  12. Thank you very much indeed Evan, for assuring us that Perfection is possible, and not only possible rather it is built into our God given spiritual individuality, as the reflection of the one eternal divine Individuality, our Father-Mother God! As we read up here already, Jesus said “be ye perfect, even as your Father in heaven is perfect.” Christ Jesus admonished us to see us as God made us in His likeness, perfect!
Thank you J for the podcast/article about Perfection. Yes I also love the first sentence Carol repeated in her comment above mine here, ending with the wonderfully comforting and loving words …”God is tenderly taking care of us”.
Wow dear Evan, always thank you uttermost for the loving support and healing treatment you
    are giving us all !

  13. ONENESS

    A letter from John Hargreaves, 20 February 1995;

“We have to watch that we don’t fall into the current trap that prevails, namely, that Science is primarily for human betterment. Science, the “atmosphere of Mind” (S&H 512:11-12), is the oneness of Principle and idea, existing as one Life, one substance. one consciousness, one Being. In the presence of this Adorable One, the flesh (the supposition that life, substance, and intelligence are in matter) dissolves. This is the difference between the Jesus message, who was appointed to speak the Word of God in a language that could be understood in that age, and Science which is the Word of God, dispelling all unlike itself. This is the language of Spirit, and the more effective because of it.

“There is not divinity and humanity. If there was, there would be eternal duality. There is only divinity, what God knows; and what is termed by human thought as humanity, is still divinity imperfectly seen. The more we know of the divinity of all things “from the rolling of worlds to a potato patch” (Mis.26:7) the more it will appear as the finest humanity. But that is not our business. The mortal is illusion (S&H 293:9-10). It is mirage, just as are the trees and cities that appear to be where and what they are not. There can be no material foundation to thought.

“Mrs. Eddy says that we translate matter into its original language, Mind. She also says that matter is a misstatement of Mind. So it is still Mind however misstated. We do not deny matter as such and so leave a vacuum, but we translate it back into its original language. (See S&H 210:1-4 and 11-16). Our world is the world of Spirit. This means spiritual consciousness alone.”

    1. thank you very much indeed Barbara for your wonderfully truthful comment. it’s very helpful and needed!-♡
